Plan at a glance
A separate seaside attraction and ticket
Niulanggang Seaside Resort is in Taimu Mountain Town, Fuding, Ningde, Fujian. The entrance is the Visitor Center at the main gate. It is a separately ticketed seaside attraction: it is not covered by the Taimu Mountain ticket and does not use Taimu Mountain's scenic shuttle system. If you plan both places in one day, calculate their tickets, parking, and return travel separately.
An adult ticket commonly costs CNY 35–40, with corresponding ticket types usually available for children, students, and older visitors. The area is open all day. A practical visiting window is about 8:00–19:00, but entertainment facilities and some boardwalk sections may close earlier in the evening, so confirm which projects are operating on the day you buy tickets.
Time needed and visiting conditions
Allow about 2 hours for the beach and the sea-view promenade. With the sea-view boardwalk, Chaoyin Cave, the reef area, and other facilities, allow about 4 hours. Sea wind, tides, and sea conditions can affect entering the water, approaching reefs, and using parts of the coastal route; do not treat every seaside activity as a fixed year-round option.
This is suitable for a relaxed coastal walk, family sand play, or a short visit to the sea. With older adults, young children, a stroller, or camping equipment, consider the steps at the beach entrance, slippery surfaces in the reef area, and the wind along the shore in advance.

Beach, coastal landforms, and sea views
The main experiences are the beach, the sea-view promenade, and the coastal reefs. Chaoyin Cave and Yuanyang Reef are coastal erosion features affected by the tide and may be inaccessible at high tide. The Sea-Viewing Pavilion is suitable for seeing the shoreline from a higher position, especially if you do not want to spend a long time on the sand.
The glass walkway, swings, lighthouse, and similar facilities may or may not be open; use the on-site status for the day. Treat them as optional additions, and do not ignore sea conditions, the surface underfoot, or closing time for one photo location.
Who it suits
The resort is a better fit for families, couples, photographers, and visitors who want a relaxed half-day. Anyone planning to swim or enter the water should first check the day's water boundaries, sea conditions, and safety notices. If you only want a walk, stay around the beach, sea-view promenade, and pavilion rather than entering the slippery reef area.
Niulanggang and Taimu Mountain can form a Fuding mountain-and-sea itinerary, but they are two independent attractions. If you hike first and go to the coast afterward, confirm your exit time from Taimu Mountain and your return transport from Niulanggang; do not assume they share a shuttle.
Build your day
A 2-hour coastal short route
Enter through the main gate, walk along the beach, continue to the sea-view promenade, and stop near the blue lighthouse or Sea-Viewing Pavilion before returning toward the Visitor Center. If you only want to walk and take photos, you do not need every optional activity; still leave time to walk back to the entrance and retrieve your car.
When the wind is strong or the tide is rising, stay near the edge of the beach and on the sea-view promenade, and reduce time near the reefs. Before entering the water, climbing, or approaching Chaoyin Cave, read the day's on-site notices. Do not detour along an unopened path.
A 4-hour half-day route
Start on the beach, then follow the sea-view boardwalk toward Chaoyin Cave and Yuanyang Reef. Return to the Sea-Viewing Pavilion for the coastal view, and finish at the main gate. Choose the glass walkway and other entertainment facilities according to their operating status and your group's preferences; they are not a fixed part of the route.
The beach, boardwalk, and reef area involve different levels of movement. With children or older adults, you can finish at the beach and pavilion rather than entering wet, unguarded, or tide-affected sections just to cover every coastal stop.
Combining it with Taimu Mountain
With a private car, you can visit Taimu Mountain and Niulanggang on the same day, or split them into two days for a more relaxed pace. The same-day plan works only when the Taimu Mountain route is short and your exit time is clear; Taimu Mountain requires substantial walking and scenic transfers, while Niulanggang requires a separate ticket.
Plan the drive between the two places around the actual roads, parking, and where you need to retrieve the car. Do not describe them as one ticket, one entrance, or one continuous trail, and do not treat Niulanggang as a beach attached to Taimu Mountain.
Get there
Driving to the main gate
From the Taimushan (Qinyu) interchange on the Shenhai Expressway, follow the road for about 7 km to Niulanggang Seaside Resort. Set the navigation destination to the main gate or Visitor Center. There is parking near the entrance, but during holidays you may be directed to an outer area.
After entering, remember where the car is parked and which way you need to return. Do not treat private roadside parking or touts at the beach edge as official parking, and do not stop in a narrow road or temporary roadside space just to get closer to the sand.
High-speed rail, bus, and the return trip
From Taimu Mountain Station, you can take bus Route 9 to the attraction, about 12 km away, or take a taxi or shared ride, usually about 20–25 minutes. From Taimu Mountain Bus Station, you need another bus or taxi; public transport connections are slower than driving.
Off-season buses may be infrequent, and it may not be easy to find a ride at the entrance on short notice. If you are not driving, arrange the return before entering rather than confirming only the outward trip and waiting until closing time.
Know before you go
Sea conditions, tides, and reef safety
Chaoyin Cave, Yuanyang Reef, and other reef areas are affected by the rising tide, so check the on-site boundary and sea conditions before approaching. Wet rocks, waves, and sections without guardrails are not suitable for climbing. Do not cross barriers, enter unopened paths, or go into the water when conditions are unsuitable just for a photo.
Follow the day's safety management when swimming, playing in the water, or entering the reef area. An open beach does not mean that Chaoyin Cave, the glass walkway, and every water activity are also open.
Facilities, wind, and supplies
The coast can be windy. Confirm whether camping or using a canopy is allowed before setting up. If you bring a camping cart or stroller, note the steps leading to the beach and travel light if necessary. Some small shops may be closed in the off-season, so bring drinking water, snacks, and a windproof layer.
The resort is better suited to daytime visits, and night lighting and some facilities may be unreliable. Before leaving in the afternoon, confirm the final shuttle, taxi, or driving arrangement rather than extending the visit into a time when transport is difficult.
