Plan at a glance
Location, entrance, and tickets
Jiulong Valley Scenic Area is in Juxi Village, Changtai Town, Chengxiang District, Putian. The usual entrance is the Jiulong Valley ticket office. The main ticket is CNY 40 per person. Rafting, slides, zip lines, glass facilities, and sightseeing buses may or may not be combined, so confirm each ticket type and operating condition for the day.
The area usually opens from 8:30 to 17:00. In winter it may close earlier at 16:30, with entry stopping at 17:00. Project hours and gate hours are not necessarily the same. A package-ticket name does not mean every facility is operating that day.
Time and physical effort
Allow about 2-3 hours for natural paths and waterfall viewpoints only. With paid projects, allow 4-5 hours. Rafting, slides, and high-altitude activities require extra equipment, queues, and energy; outdoor routes are also affected by weather, water levels, and on-site operations.
Jiulong Valley and Jiuli Lake are two independent mountain attractions. They do not share an entrance, ticket, parking system, or sightseeing bus. Do not write them as an official route that naturally connects within one day.

Natural waterfalls and forest paths
Jiangjunji, Feifengji, and Pearl Pool form part of Jiulong Valley's walking and viewing content. Water may be higher after spring and summer rain and lower in autumn, winter, or dry periods. Conditions change, so the waterfalls will not necessarily remain the same size year-round.
Mazu Pavilion, valley paths, and viewpoints suit visitors who want forest, waterfalls, and mountain buildings. Follow the open paths, and do not enter streams, unrailed edges, or closed side routes.
Paid projects and water activities
The glass water slide, glass sky bridge, dry slide, high-altitude zip line, and Xiake rafting may be separately operated or charged separately. The length, drop, and equipment conditions for rafting follow the day's operating notice. Confirm age, height, weight, and safety requirements on site before deciding whether a project suits older adults, children, or visitors afraid of heights.
Paid projects are optional. Visitors who prefer quiet hiking can use only the viewing route, and families do not need to buy a package or use every facility.
Who this suits
This area suits visitors who want to choose between natural paths and paid outdoor activities. Water-activity participants should expect to get fully wet and accept changing weather and limited changing facilities. Visitors seeing only the natural scenery should plan around mountain walking and the return shuttle.
Build your day
About 2-3 hours: natural route
Enter from the ticket office, take the sightseeing bus if it is operating, or follow the signs to the main area. Visit Mazu Pavilion, Jiangjunji, Feifengji, and Pearl Pool in the open route order, then return by the official route. Sightseeing buses may operate in sections, so confirm boarding points and the return method before starting.
If you are taking the natural route only, you do not need a rafting, glass-facility, or zip-line package. Water levels, wet steps, and crowds affect speed, so keep a return buffer.
About 4-5 hours: projects route
If you want to join paid projects, first confirm which are operating, the ticket scope, height and weight limits, equipment, and the return transport. You may complete the glass water slide or another open uphill project first, then follow staff directions to the glass sky bridge, dry slide, or rafting area.
Projects do not necessarily have continuous transfers between them. After one project you may need to walk to the next station or find a sightseeing bus again. Do not estimate only by straight-line map distance, and agree on a meeting point with companions who are not joining a project.
Do not combine it with Jiuli Lake on foot
Jiulong Valley and Jiuli Lake require separate tickets, entrances, and return transport. Do not use a closed path, informal route, or gap in a fence to reach the other scenic area.
If you want to visit both during one trip, treat them as two independent day choices, or allow a complete return schedule for each. After Jiulong Valley, do not assume you can walk directly into Jiuli Lake.
Get there
Driving and parking
Navigate to “Jiulong Valley Scenic Area.” Driving from Putian city takes about 1 hour. The area has several parking lots, with parking about CNY 5 per visit according to the approved note; confirm the actual management on site. At weekends and holidays, allow time for queues, parking, and entry.
Mountain roads, bends, and wet-weather surfaces affect driving. Do not schedule the final paid project in the narrow period before closing. After parking, enter according to the visitor centre and ticket-office directions, not by an informal mountain path.
High-speed rail and public transport
A taxi from Putian Station takes about 50 minutes. Alternatively, take Bus 36 or 303 to the City Bus East Station, then transfer to Bus 96 or 98 to the scenic area. The one-way fare is about CNY 10. Confirm bus frequency, waiting time, and the return for the day.
Do not mix Jiulong Valley bus information with Jiuli Lake, Meizhou Island, or Nanri Island transport. Their stops, entrances, and last services are completely different.
Know before you go
Project restrictions and weather
Rafting, slides, zip lines, and glass facilities may close because of weather, maintenance, water volume, or safety management. Confirm the actual open projects and change or refund conditions before buying a package. Do not enter a suspended facility or wait so long that you miss the return.
Rafting requires a waterproof bag, a change of clothes, and suitable water shoes, and normally leaves you fully wet. Showers and changing facilities may be limited. Do not assume that a rafting activity guarantees warm water or a complete changing service.
Path and waterfall safety
Waterfall areas are slippery after rain. Follow railings and staff instructions around streams, pools, glass facilities, and high edges. Do not swim or jump into a pool below a waterfall, search for a closed route, or step onto unmarked rocks for a photo.
Water levels may be low in autumn, winter, or dry periods, so rafting, waterfalls, and water projects may not all be suitable at the same time. During extreme heat, thunderstorms, or strong winds, finish outdoor projects early and move toward the exit.
Tickets, supplies, and the return
The entrance ticket, sightseeing bus, rafting, slides, and other facilities may be charged separately. Shops and food options are limited, so bringing water, a towel, and essential snacks is more practical. Do not infer the inclusion of every project from a platform package price.
Closing and entry-stop times are different, and the sightseeing bus may finish earlier. Confirm the last shuttle and exit location immediately after entering. This is especially important if you join rafting or high-altitude projects; do not leave the return until the final few minutes.
