Decide whether you want forest streams or an attraction package
Niuyuzui is better for forest, streams and seasonal flowers than for a large amusement park where every ride is included in basic admission. The difference between base admission and packages covering the magic carpet, glass bridge, slide or rafting can be substantial, so list the attractions you actually want before buying.
The Chinese coral tree flower season in March and April is the most distinctive time to visit. At other times, plan around valley walks and forest shade; some rides can close in low season, and water levels affect both waterfalls and rafting.
Use the main-gate visitor centre for arrival and departure
Driving to “Niuyuzui Scenic Area” is most convenient, with parking at the entrance. Qingyuan city bus 206 can reach the Niuyuzui stop area, but service is limited. Attractions are spread out inside the park and taxis are hard to find after coming down, so non-drivers should arrange the return in advance.
Base admission and the entrances for high-altitude and slide attractions are different. On arrival, check your ticket coverage, attractions operating that day, and the uphill and downhill route before walking far into the park.

Easy route: magic carpet up, glass bridge and slide down
For a low-walking visit, or when travelling with children or older adults, take the magic carpet uphill, visit Fengwu Jiutian Glass Bridge and Sky Mirror, then use the Flying Dragon Slide down, allowing about 2–3 hours. This route depends on a package or individual attraction tickets and is not included with every base ticket.
The elevated glass and slide attractions do not suit travellers with a fear of heights or weak knees. If people in the group are not joining them, they can rest near the entrance instead of forcing everyone onto one route.
Nature route: follow the stream through forest and waterfalls
For a nature-led visit, follow Lingnan First Stream, Mushroom Fairy Garden, Green Wild Wonderland, Twin Waterfalls and Sacred Spring Retreat, then walk down, allowing about 4–5 hours. This route suits visitors willing to walk, accept more basic facilities and not expect every stop to be a photo attraction.
If joining the aerial glass rafting in summer, prepare waterproof clothing. In low-water periods or when facilities are under maintenance, treat it as optional rather than essential to the visit.
Build your day
With a package, use the uphill and downhill attractions at the ends
After entering, take the magic carpet uphill, walk the glass bridge and viewing area, then take the slide down. This reduces consecutive uphill walking and avoids carrying slide equipment along forest paths.
Photography services near the glass bridge are optional purchases. Complete the crossing and visit first, then decide whether to collect photographs; do not stop in the middle of the bridge when it is busy.
On the nature route, leave a buffer for streamside ground
Start at Lingnan First Stream and follow the valley direction, pausing at Mushroom Fairy Garden and Green Wild Wonderland before continuing to Twin Waterfalls and Sacred Spring Retreat. If shoes are slipping or water is rising, shorten the stream and downhill sections rather than trying to reach every stop.
If rides are not your priority, you do not need a full package simply to get your money’s worth. Giving time to the stream, shade and rests is better aligned with this park’s strengths.

Driving works best for the spread-out route
The drive from the Pearl River Delta is about 1–1.5 hours; navigate to the main gate and begin from the visitor centre after parking. Returning directly to the car is especially useful for families with children or travellers carrying a change of clothes.
From Qingyuan Railway Station, a taxi takes about 20–30 minutes. Bus 206 is a backup option, but should not be treated as a dependable late return. Non-drivers can consider a hired car or prearranged pickup.
Deal with bulky items and wet clothes first
If you are using rafting or the slide, leave items that do not need to go uphill in the car or secure storage. Taxis are hard to find after coming down, so keep your phone charged and confirm the meeting point in advance.
At the entrance, check whether any attractions are closed for season or weather. This is more reliable than planning a route from an old guide and avoids unnecessary climbing.
Know before you go
Package value depends on what is actually operating
The glass bridge, slide, magic carpet and rafting commonly require separate payment or a package. If you do not plan to join several, base admission plus the nature route may be better value. Attractions can close or be maintained in low season, so do not travel a long way for a single ride alone.
Chinese coral tree flowers are mainly a March–April feature; travellers choosing the park for the flowers should use that season as the reason to go. At other times, adjust expectations for the flower displays.
Prepare for wet ground and sun exposure
Wear non-slip shoes and bring water, snacks, insect repellent and a change of clothes. For glass rafting, prepare a raincoat or trouser covers. Water activities may leave shoes and trousers wet, so do not bring unprotected electronics.
Food and drink choices inside the park are limited and relatively expensive, making this a good half-day or one-day nature visit. If you want to combine it with Gulong Gorge or Bijia Mountain, use different days rather than packing several mountain attractions into one afternoon.
