How to Visit
1

Start from the visitor center

Buy the ticket and board the scenic shuttle. The park route is designed around shuttle stops, not private-car access.

Tip:Keep your ticket available for checks.
2

Walk Shudu Lake slowly

Use the 3.3 km boardwalk as the core experience. The path is flat, but the altitude is high, so walk slower than you would at sea level.

Tip:This is the most useful stop if time is limited.
3

Use Militang as a short photo stop

The pasture stop is mostly a wide-view platform. It is useful for meadow photos but does not need a long stay.

Tip:Weather changes the value of this stop.
4

Finish with Bita Lake if open

Bita Lake normally has a shorter boardwalk section. Visit it after Shudu Lake if energy and shuttle timing allow.

Tip:Some sections can change with conservation rules.
5

Plan altitude breaks

Build in time to sit, drink water, and slow your pace at each stop. The park is easy logistically but still high enough to affect many first-time visitors.

Tip:Do not rush the boardwalks just because they look flat.
Highlights
  • Shudu Lake boardwalk through forest, meadow, and lake scenery
  • Highland pasture views at Militang
  • Bita Lake as a quieter sacred-lake stop
  • A structured shuttle route that is easy for first-time visitors
  • Strong nature value without technical hiking
Insider Tips

The park is above 3,500 m; move slowly and avoid running for photos.

Buy oxygen in town if you are worried about altitude because it is cheaper than inside scenic areas.

Skip paid lake-boat extras if you prefer the boardwalk; the walking views are stronger.

Bring a windproof layer even in summer.

Do not feed squirrels or wildlife along the boardwalk.
