Entrance, tickets and hours
Zhouzhuang Ancient Town is at 43 Quanfu Road in Zhouzhuang Town, Kunshan, with the main entrance at the Ancient Archway ticket checkpoint. The regular daytime ticket is CNY 100, or CNY 50 on weekdays; the town area is usually open 08:00–21:00. Entry to the streets, paid sights such as Shen Hall and Zhang Hall, and rowing boats follows separate arrangements.
Off-peak access and night conditions
The streets are usually free to enter before 08:00 or after 21:00, but many paid sights are already closed during those free periods. The “Moonlit Zhouzhuang” event runs from July 9 to October 8, 2026; during the event, night entry requires a ticket and the free street-entry period moves to after 21:00, so the regular daytime policy does not apply to the event night.

Bridges, residences and waterways
Twin Bridges, Fu'an Bridge, Shen Hall and Zhang Hall form the main first-visit sights. Twin Bridges show how the waterways meet, while Shen Hall and Zhang Hall present different forms of historic residence and riverside life. The historic stage, Nanhu Qiuyue Garden and a rowing boat can be added to a longer day-and-night visit, subject to the day's performances and boat service.
Who it suits
Visitors interested in classic water-town scenery, Ming- and Qing-period buildings, photography and night views should allow 2–3 hours. Early morning or an event-approved evening period is better for avoiding crowds; if you stay overnight or make a short visit, plan the return journey separately from the town walk.
Build your day
A 1.5-hour route
Enter through the Ancient Archway and continue through Twin Bridges, Zhenfeng Cultural Street, Zhang Hall, Shen Hall and Fu'an Bridge. This short route focuses on bridges and residences, leaving time for other Kunshan plans or an early departure after the main photographs.
A 2–3 hour route
Add the historic stage and Nanhu Qiuyue Garden to the route above, then choose a rowing boat if service is operating. During the event period, confirm the night ticket and boat departures first, then follow the lights from Twin Bridges to Fu'an Bridge; the normal free street-entry period cannot replace a night ticket.
Get there
Bus and metro connection
Take the direct tourist bus from Suzhou North Square Coach Station to Zhouzhuang Visitor Centre, or take Metro Line 4 to Tongli Station and transfer by bus or taxi. Zhouzhuang is not within walking distance of Suzhou's old-city metro network, so allow time for the final transfer and the return trip.
Driving and parking
Do not drive to the town entrance and search for a temporary parking space. Drivers can navigate to Zhouzhuang Ancient Town North Gate Parking Lot or Zhouzhuang Visitor Centre Parking Lot, then walk through the town and avoid private parking directions outside the scenic area.
Know before you go
Boats and spending
Rowing boats usually charge by boat rather than by passenger; confirm the departure, journey length and total price before boarding. Whether the boat singer offers a song is a personal choice. Riverside restaurants have good views but may be expensive, so confirm menu prices and how dishes are charged before ordering.
Off-peak timing and return
Holiday daytime crowds can be heavy, while early morning is better for Twin Bridges reflections; night visits require a separate check of the event ticket and lighting. Transfers outside the town, ride-hailing pickup points and parking lots may be some distance away, so plan your way out before the night visit ends and avoid low-price touts or unlicensed cars.
