Plan at a glance

A high bridge inside Shenxianju

Ruyi Bridge is a high bridge on the mountain paths inside Shenxianju Scenic Area. It is not a separate park and has no independent entrance at the foot of the mountain. To reach it, first enter Shenxianju through the South or North Gate, then use the cableway or walking route available that day.

This page covers the bridge and nearby route choices. The Shenxianju entrance ticket, cableways, parking, and South/North Gate return plan remain part of the wider scenic-area visit. Ruyi Bridge is not a separate admission product.

How much time to allow

If you are already on the mountain-top route, allow time for the surrounding walk and any queue at the bridge. From the park entrance, plan at least half a day. Steps, viewpoints, and waiting before and after the bridge vary with visitor numbers, weather, and operations.

Visitors who are afraid of heights or travelling in rain do not need to cross Ruyi Bridge. Decide before reaching the bridge whether to turn back or use an open alternative path, so the return is easier to manage.

Choose your visit

The gorge from the bridge

The main experience is looking down into the gorge and across the mountains from a high bridge. It suits visitors who are comfortable with glass bridges or suspended heights and who can cross slowly when the bridge is open. The view depends on the weather, mist, and crowding.

Follow the bridge staff's instructions and do not occupy a busy section for a long photo session. Cloud, sunlight, and clear distant views are not guaranteed; safe movement comes first.

High paths around the bridge

Ruyi Bridge usually forms part of a route with nearby platforms, walkways, or a cableway section. Steps, slopes, and exposed paths may continue before and after the bridge, so “going to the bridge” is not the full amount of walking.

If someone only wants to see the bridge and not walk a long route, confirm the closest open access and the return cableway direction first. If you plan to continue around the mountain, confirm the final exit, cableway, and car arrangement as well.

Who should choose this stop

Ruyi Bridge suits landscape photographers and visitors who are comfortable with height and moderate mountain walking. Visitors who are afraid of heights, unsteady on their feet, travelling with a small child, or visiting during a thunderstorm or dense fog can use a lower viewpoint outside the bridge or end the route before crossing.

Build your day

A bridge-led route from the South Gate

Enter Shenxianju through the South Gate. Take the Nantian Cableway or the open walking route to the mountain top, then follow the signs to Ruyi Bridge. Before reaching it, confirm the return cableway, descent direction, and whether an alternative path is open. Cross only if conditions are suitable, pause in the permitted area, and then return or continue as planned.

This works as a half-day Shenxianju visit centered on the bridge. If anyone feels dizzy, afraid, or unsteady, or if the bridge is wet or crowded, turn back before crossing.

Combining it with a mountain-top loop

With suitable weather and enough energy, you can combine Ruyi Bridge with Lotus Platform, Wolong Bridge, and other mountain-top viewpoints. Follow the paths open that day and confirm whether the final descent returns to the South Gate or leaves from the North Gate.

If the car is at the South Gate, arrange the shuttle or vehicle transfer before descending through the North Gate. Without a clear vehicle plan, a South Gate return with a turn at Ruyi Bridge is easier to carry out.

If the bridge closes or weather worsens

If the bridge is under repair, a thunderstorm arrives, fog reduces visibility, or the surface becomes slippery, follow staff instructions and use an open path or return. Do not look for a photo position outside the railings, along the cliff edge, or on a closed walkway.

Get there

Reach a Shenxianju gate first

From Xianju South Station, take a taxi or local transport to the Shenxianju South Gate or North Gate, then enter according to the park's arrangements. State the gate clearly. Ruyi Bridge is on the mountain; vehicles can only take you to a Shenxianju gate.

Cableways and mountain walking

After entering, use the Nantian Cableway, Beihai Cableway, or an open walking route according to the day's operation. The cableway stations, open paths, and Ruyi Bridge are still separated by walking distance. Confirm the uphill direction and return direction when you buy the ticket or enter.

If you only want Ruyi Bridge, check which side is easier to return to. The South/North Gate shuttle may change, so do not wait until reaching the North Gate to look for a ride back to the South Gate.

Parking for drivers

Park according to the Shenxianju gate you will use. The car park, cableway entrance, and park gate are not the same place, so note the car location before walking in. If you choose South Gate up and North Gate down, record the North Gate shuttle arrangement before starting.

Know before you go

Entrance and ticket relationship

Ruyi Bridge is part of the mountain visit within Shenxianju Scenic Area. First buy or confirm the Shenxianju entrance product. Cableways, Nantian Summit, other viewpoints, and activity facilities may be separate. This page describes the bridge route inside the park, not a separate bridge-park ticket.

Height and bridge safety

The bridge, connecting paths, and viewing platforms may involve height, wind, mist, and wet surfaces. Wear shoes with good grip and cross slowly as directed. If you are afraid of heights or feel unwell, stop before the bridge. Do not run, push, or cross the railings.

Changing conditions and the return

Ruyi Bridge, cableways, viewpoints, and connecting paths may change with weather, repairs, or visitor numbers. Let the opening period and descent plan set the limit for photography, and confirm the return gate in advance. Do not miss the cableway or shuttle while waiting for cloud or a particular light.
