Plan at a glance
Decide which passage to use
One-Line Sky is in Wuyishan's core scenic area, near Huxiao Rock. The attraction itself does not require a long climb, but the cave is dark and the stone may be damp. The right passage narrows to about 30 cm and requires visitors to turn sideways; the left passage is wider and usually takes about five minutes.
The core area currently requires advance real-name reservation, and the One-Line Sky stop normally requires a sightseeing-shuttle product. Common shuttle prices are CNY 70 for one day, CNY 85 for two days, and CNY 90 for three days. The scenic area is open all day, but 7:00–17:30 is a more practical window for the main visit; the actual shuttle operation still depends on the day.
How much time to allow
Walking only the left passage and returning to the shuttle point takes about 40 minutes. The right and left passages followed by Huxiao Rock usually need around 1.5 hours. A deeper route linking Huxiao Rock, Yunu Peak, and Tianyou Peak may take 4–5 hours, so it should not be added casually to a short One-Line Sky visit.

The right passage: narrow and dark
The right passage narrows to about 30 cm, so visitors need to turn sideways and use the rock wall for support. The cave is dim, the stone may be wet, and bats and odours can make some visitors uncomfortable. Anyone with claustrophobia, restricted mobility, or difficulty passing the entrance size check should not force entry.
This passage suits visitors who want a tight cave experience and are comfortable queuing and moving close to the rock. It is not a compulsory route for every member of a group. If someone does not want to enter, the left passage is a reasonable alternative.
The left passage: the wider option
The left passage is relatively wide, short, and suitable for visitors who do not want to enter a narrow cave, families with older adults or children, and travellers with average fitness. It can still contain dark and damp sections, but the pressure of passing is lower than on the right.
After leaving One-Line Sky, decide whether to continue to Huxiao Rock according to the queue and the group's energy. If the right passage is crowded, choosing the left side and saving time for another core-area attraction is often easier than waiting at the entrance.
Build your day
Quick route: left passage and onward
Take the sightseeing shuttle to the One-Line Sky stop, walk to the entrance, use the left passage, return to the shuttle area, and continue to the next stop. The visit takes about 40 minutes and suits tight schedules, groups who should avoid the narrow cave, or visitors who also want to fit in the raft and Tianyou Peak.
If the entrance is crowded, first confirm which side is open and how the queues are moving. Decide whether the wait fits the rest of the day; do not build the schedule around a promise that a particular time will always be quiet.
Classic route: both passages and Huxiao Rock
Visitors who want both cave experiences can take the right passage first, then the left passage, and continue to Huxiao Rock and Haohan Slope. The time needed for the right side depends on the size check, the queue, and congestion ahead, so leave a margin.
At Huxiao Rock, continue to the viewpoint if the group still has energy. If someone is already tired, finish at Huxiao Rock and take the sightseeing shuttle out instead of forcing Yunu Peak and Tianyou Peak into the same schedule.
Deep link: One-Line Sky to Tianyou Peak
Strong hikers can start around the Lanlu intersection near One-Line Sky, continue through Huxiao Rock and the outside view of Yunu Peak, and then travel towards Tianyou Peak. This route takes about 4–5 hours and includes several path changes and stair sections, so it suits visitors who plan ahead, carry enough water, and do not need to catch a raft.
If the right passage has a long queue or someone is already tired at Huxiao Rock, remove the later stops. Tianyou Peak itself involves a front ascent and rear descent, so it should not be forced into the route after the group has already reached its limit.
Get there
Sightseeing shuttle and bus
From the South or North Gate Visitor Centre, buy the sightseeing-shuttle product and take the vehicle to the One-Line Sky stop. Visitors staying in Sangu Resort can also take Bus 9 and get off near the One-Line Sky Lanlu intersection, then walk about 10–15 minutes to the entrance.
The attractions are far apart, so the sightseeing shuttle is the more reliable connection. Do not treat a long road walk from Yunu Peak to Tianyou Peak as the default transport, especially in hot weather, after rain, or with visitors who have limited fitness.
Driving arrangements
Private cars cannot drive directly to the One-Line Sky entrance. Drivers should park around the Visitor Service Centre or the South or North Gate, then transfer to the sightseeing shuttle. Leave time to return to the parking area after the hike.
If One-Line Sky, Huxiao Rock, and Tianyou Peak are planned for the same day, confirm the shuttle direction and final connection first. Do not use an unconfirmed shortcut simply to avoid one transfer.
Know before you go
Access limits on the right side
The right passage narrows to about 30 cm and may have an entrance size check. Visitors who cannot pass, have claustrophobia, have restricted mobility, or do not want to move sideways in a tight space should choose the left passage. Do not push through the queue or stop in the narrowest section for photographs.
The cave is dark and the rock and floor may be wet. Wear shoes with good grip. A hat or light rain layer can reduce discomfort from bat droppings; a phone light is only temporary illumination and cannot replace the actual access conditions on the day.
Queues, bats, and weather
The right side can have a long queue in busy periods, and visitors may become packed together at the narrow section. Waiting time changes with the day's crowd level, so do not redesign the whole trip around a supposedly fixed quiet period. If the queue is too long, the left passage is a sensible alternative.
In wet weather, the smell and slippery surfaces inside the cave may be more noticeable. Check the on-site opening information, keep moving at a normal pace, and do not cross barriers, enter closed areas, or use unmarked dirt paths.
Fitness and the next connection
One-Line Sky itself may be short, but combining it with Huxiao Rock and Tianyou Peak creates a half-day or longer walking route. With older adults or children, consider limiting the plan to the left passage and a short Huxiao Rock visit, then confirm the return shuttle.
The scenic area is large, and finding a vehicle after the final shuttle is not easy. After leaving the cave, confirm the direction and time of the next vehicle before deciding whether to add more photographs or walking.
