How to Visit
1

Treat Bagua Field as one key viewpoint inside Wanfenglin

Bagua Field sits inside the Wanfenglin area and is best seen from the mountainside observation road. After buying the entrance ticket and sightseeing bus ticket, follow the bus route and stop at the relevant viewpoints to see the field ridges spiraling around the sinkhole.

Tip:From field level, the "bagua" shape is hard to see. You need a higher viewpoint to understand the pattern.
2

Use the Nahui village area if you only want field scenery

Without buying the observation-road ticket, you can still walk or ride around Nahui villages and nearby field roads to see paddies, villages, and peak backdrops up close.

Tip:This is more of a countryside walk. It is not the same as the full overhead view from the observation platform.
3

Let the season guide your photo expectations

Rapeseed flowers in spring, green fields in summer, and golden paddies in autumn all change the look of Bagua Field. For clearer field lines, sunny morning or late-afternoon side light is usually better than midday.

Tip:Field colors depend on crops and farming schedules. Do not expect the scene to match one online photo exactly.
4

Pair it with Shangnahui and Xianahui

Bagua Field itself does not need a long stop. It works best with the Wanfenglin sightseeing bus, Shangnahui guesthouse area, and Xianahui village riding route.

Tip:If time is tight, Bagua Field does not need a separate half day. Its value comes from seeing it together with the peaks and villages.
Highlights
  • Bagua Field is shaped by natural sinkhole terrain and farming, not just by ordinary rice fields.
  • From a higher viewpoint, the field ridges, peak backdrop, and village layout become much clearer.
  • It is one of Wanfenglin's easiest landmarks to remember and belongs in a first-visit route.
  • The colors change strongly by season: flowers in spring, green fields in summer, and golden fields in autumn.
  • Bagua Field sits close to Shangnahui and Xianahui, so it fits naturally into an easy half-day route.
Insider Tips

Do not build a rushed trip around Bagua Field alone. Put it inside the wider Wanfenglin visit.

Sightseeing bus stops are limited in time, so decide your photo angle quickly before getting off.

If you choose the free village route, focus on fields and village atmosphere rather than expecting the full pattern.

After rain, field edges and village paths can be slippery. Do not step into farmland or cross barriers.

Check local rules before flying a drone. Do not launch one without permission.
