How to Visit
1

Plan it as a half-day high-viewpoint trip

Ruyi Peak is good for wide views of Yangshuo's karst peaks. The core route is cableway up, then Ruyi Suspension Bridge, the summit viewpoint, glass walkway, forest path, and cableway down.

Tip:Even with the cableway, you still need to walk steps and mountain paths. It is not a no-effort attraction.
2

Enter in the morning or earlier afternoon

The mountain views depend heavily on weather and light. Entering too late leaves less time for the route. Clear days give wide views, while misty days can still be interesting, but strong wind, thunderstorms, or bad weather may affect high-altitude activities.

Tip:Do not arrive close to the ticket cutoff. The cableway and mountaintop route both need buffer time.
3

Wear non-slip shoes and travel light

The mountaintop paths, glass sections, and stone paving can be slippery after rain. Comfortable shoes matter more than a photo outfit. Food choices inside the scenic area are limited, so buy water and simple snacks before going up.

Tip:The summit can feel cooler in wind, so a light jacket helps.
4

Follow the main loop without rushing

After taking the cableway up, go to Ruyi Suspension Bridge and the summit viewpoint first, then continue to the glass walkway and forest path before returning to the cableway. This keeps the route clear and helps manage energy.

Tip:If you are afraid of heights, walk slowly on the inner side. You do not need to spend long on the glass walkway.
Highlights
  • The cableway itself is part of the experience, with elevated views over Yangshuo's karst peaks.
  • The summit viewpoint is good for seeing Shili Gallery and the surrounding peak forest as a wider landscape.
  • The red suspension bridge, glass walkway, and forest path make the route more varied than a simple viewpoint visit.
  • Compared with Xianggong Mountain, Ruyi Peak requires less physical effort and suits more general visitors.
  • Clear weather is good for wide mountain photos, while misty weather can show clouds moving through the peaks.
Insider Tips

Visitors with fear of heights, weak knees, or very young children should decide in advance whether the suspension bridge and glass walkway are suitable.

The summit can be windy, so secure hats, scarves, and loose items.

Drone use is often banned or restricted in scenic areas like this, so do not bring one just for aerial shots.

If you also plan to cycle Shili Gallery that day, doing Ruyi Peak first may make the rest of the day tiring.

Rainy weather does not automatically make the visit pointless, but thunderstorms or strong wind can cause high-altitude activities to change temporarily.
