How to Visit
1

Treat it as a scenic corridor

Shili Gallery is not a closed scenic area. It is a countryside and karst landscape corridor south of Yangshuo town. The best views are along the road, bridges, fields, and riverside, not necessarily inside every paid attraction.

Tip:The corridor itself is free. Stops such as the Grand Banyan Tree, Moon Hill, and Butterfly Spring charge according to their own rules.
2

Prioritize cycling or e-bike travel

From Yangshuo town to Gongnong Bridge and Moon Hill, a bicycle or e-bike gives the most flexibility. You can stop whenever you see fields, karst peaks, or Yulong River rafts.

Tip:During holidays, roads are narrow and busy. Even on an e-bike, ride slowly and do not stop suddenly or cut across traffic for photos.
3

Go in the morning or near sunset

Morning has softer light and fewer people. Late afternoon is better for Gongnong Bridge and countryside sunset views. Midday riding is hot and drains energy quickly.

Tip:In summer, sun protection, water, and a power bank matter more than adding more photo stops.
4

Combine it with Yulong River

Shili Gallery and Yulong River sit close together. You can raft first, then ride back through Gongnong Bridge, Moon Hill, and countryside sections, or ride first and add a shorter raft route later.

Tip:Do not squeeze Shili Gallery, Yulong River, Xingping, and Xianggong Mountain into one day. Yangshuo distances look short, but transport and stops make the day much longer.
Highlights
  • Shili Gallery’s value is the open landscape route, not one single paid attraction.
  • Gongnong Bridge is a key stop for Yulong River, bamboo rafts, and evening light.
  • Moon Hill, the Grand Banyan Tree, and countryside roads make a good half-day riding route.
  • Rice fields, villages, river sections, and karst peaks are best enjoyed with slow stops.
  • It works well as an easy first-day route to understand Yangshuo’s layout.
Insider Tips

Before renting an e-bike, check brakes, battery, helmet, and whether it can reach your planned route.

Do not let anyone convince you that every good view requires a ticket. Much of the scenery is along the road.

Gongnong Bridge gets busy near sunset, so watch traffic and bridge safety while taking photos.

After rain, the countryside looks good, but roads and side paths can be slippery.

Staying along Shili Gallery or Yulong River is quieter than staying near West Street, but there are fewer dinner choices at night.
