Come in the evening
West Street is fine for a quick daytime walk, but it becomes livelier after dusk. Food, shops, night views, and Yangshuo nightlife all fit better after a day of sightseeing.
Use it for food and walking
West Street does not need a complex route. Walk the main street, East Gate Pier, riverside, and nearby lanes before or after dinner. Treat it as an easy food-and-walk stop, not a major scenic area.
Plan traffic and parking
The core area is best on foot. Cars need to park in outer lots. If you stay in town, walking, taxi, or e-bike is easier.
Separate shows and night walks
If you also plan Guilin Romance Park or Impression Sanjie Liu the same evening, confirm the show location and transport after the show before deciding whether to return to West Street for dinner.
✦Do not enter a restaurant only because someone on the street recommends it. Check prices and reviews first.
✦If you want quiet sleep, choose a hotel some distance from the main street.
✦Watch your phone, camera, and bag when the street is crowded at night.
✦West Street works well for 1-2 hours. Staying too long can turn it into pure consumption.
✦If you need to wake early for Xianggong Mountain sunrise, do not stay out too late on West Street.
