Plan at a glance

Location and visit area

Shanhai Square is at the southern end of the urban area in Bayuquan District, Yingkou, at the western end of Shanhai Avenue. Set “山海广场正门” (Shanhai Square Main Gate) as your navigation destination. The public visit area includes the entrance plaza, Xinyue Bay Beach, the seaside viewing causeway (观海堤) and wooden boardwalk, the Bohai Pearl Viewing Platform, and the Bayu Princess statue. The public square and coastal walking area are open around the clock all year, with no admission fee for these public areas.

Two visit lengths

A short visit takes about 2 hours, walking out and back along the entrance plaza and seaside viewing causeway, with a focus on the offshore structures and statues. A slower 4–5-hour visit can include Xinyue Bay Beach, a tidal-flat visit, and time by the sea in the evening. Tide conditions and the areas open that day may affect the order of stops.

Choose your visit

Bayu Princess and the Bohai Pearl Viewing Platform

The Bayu Princess statue is about 60 m tall and stands offshore. The top of the Bohai Pearl Viewing Platform is about 40 m above sea level, offering views of the coast and statue from among the offshore structures. The seaside viewing causeway leads to the platform; the walking section is about 668 m, and access to the platform requires a separate ticket. The entrance plaza has a copper flute sculpture, Sea Pearl Stone, the Marine Zodiac, and eight groups of relief walls. The coastal wooden boardwalk is about 2,500 m long, with a separate electric-cart lane of about 3,000 m.

Beach, tides, and offshore sightseeing

Xinyue Bay Beach is suited to playing in the sand and looking out to sea. At low tide, visitors can explore the tidal flats along sections of the shore that are open. Families can combine both activities during the same stop along the coast. The “海上看营口” sightseeing boat trip (“Yingkou from the Sea”) began operating on September 25, 2026. Each boat can carry 12 passengers. Departure times, fares, and sea conditions depend on the operating schedule; check these separately if you plan to take a boat.

For a separate visit to sea-eroded coast, wetland and Silver Beach, see Liaoning Tuanshan National Marine Park.

Build your day

An approximately 2-hour boardwalk visit

Enter through the main gate into the entrance plaza. First see the copper flute sculpture and relief walls, then walk toward the seaside viewing causeway. Follow it for about 668 m to the Bohai Pearl Viewing Platform area; decide whether to go up based on that day’s opening and ticket availability. Return to the plaza, walk along the coastal boardwalk to see the sea, and finish at the main gate. Allow about 2 hours in total.

A relaxed 4–5-hour coastal visit

Enter through the main gate in the afternoon and start at Xinyue Bay Beach. Depending on the day’s tide, play in the sand or explore the tidal flats in sections of the shore that are open. Then walk back toward the boardwalk and seaside viewing causeway, deciding whether to buy a ticket for the viewing platform. Spend some time by the sea in the evening, then return to the main gate along the same route. Allow about 4–5 hours in total; leave the tidal flats when the tide starts rising.

Get there

Bus and navigation

Use “山海广场正门” (Shanhai Square Main Gate) at the western end of Shanhai Avenue as your navigation destination. Take Bayuquan Bus 204, 307, or Route 4 to “山海广场站” (Shanhai Square stop). Check that day’s bus information for direction, frequency, and last departure. Before returning, confirm the route direction, the correct stop, and the last bus; do not assume the boarding and return stops are on the same side of the road. For a taxi or ride-hailing car, set “山海广场正门” (Shanhai Square Main Gate) as the destination. Follow the on-site pedestrian signs to the beach and seaside viewing causeway. Vehicle access along the coast is limited by the posted management signs.

Driving and parking

There is a paid parking lot near the entrance. The reference rate is CNY 10 for up to 8 hours; a 2026 notice from the operator confirms that parking is charged. Check the posted rate and calculation method on site.

Know before you go

Tickets, camping, and paid activities

Check prices separately for the viewing platform, parking, beach tents or shade equipment, and offshore sightseeing. These activities have their own operating hours, separate from the public areas, which are open around the clock. Xinyue Bay is a beach area. Before pitching a tent, staying overnight, or lighting a fire, ask the management which areas are designated and what hours and rules apply.

Tides and seaside safety

Check the tide table for the day before exploring the tidal flats and watch for the marked open-area boundary. Stay on managed sections of the shore at low tide, and return to the path along your route as the water rises. If the seaside viewing causeway, boardwalk, or tidal flats are temporarily closed, turn back at the barrier and do not cross the closure line. There are five visitor service stations along the coast; look for signs to see which locations are open. For ticket questions, call 0417-3213977 to ask about viewing-platform prices, opening hours, and that day’s offshore sightseeing schedule.
