Street boundaries and visit time
Liaohe Old Street is on the south bank of the Daliao River, running about 1.3 km from Xidamiao (Tianhou Temple) at the western end to Laoye Pavilion at the eastern end. Allow 2–3 hours to walk the street and see its architecture. Yingkou Museum and Xipaotai Heritage Park are separate visits.
Entry and opening arrangements
The pedestrian area is free to enter, and the main street is accessible around the clock. Shops and indoor cultural venues, including teahouses and museums, have their own opening hours. Festivals and other events follow separate schedules. Recent street improvements may also bring temporary barriers in some areas; check on-site directions for pedestrian access on the day.

A century of port architecture
After Yingkou became the first treaty port in Northeast China in 1861, Liaohe Old Street grew around the trade and commerce of this modern port. Government information has counted 31 modern-era buildings and 12 imitation historic-style buildings in the district. The main street is suited to viewing its blend of Chinese and Western facades, courtyards, and old businesses; access to individual buildings varies.
Silver shops, tea houses, and old port trades
Silver melting and processing, early warehouses known as “big houses,” Yongcheng Silver Exchange (永成银号), and Taishunxiang Tea House reflect the street’s old port trades. Zhengyouhe Yingkou Dajiangyuan, a long-established fermented bean-paste maker, is another local business. Current shop opening arrangements may change with business operations and renovation work.
Folk museum, cultural figures museum, and evening events
The street has a folk museum on Yingkou’s history as an open port and a cultural figures museum about local people. Performances, festivals, and evening activities are scheduled by date; the night-market stalls do not have the same lineup every day.
Southern Liaoning Chen-style dough figurines
The Southern Liaoning Chen-style Dough Figurine Museum is an intangible cultural heritage venue on the street. Chen Qun is a fifth-generation inheritor of the dough-figurine tradition. Check the day’s notice for opening hours, demonstrations, and hands-on activities.
Build your day
Short route: the wall displaying “营口” and Dongji Silver Exchange
Enter through the west or south archway and first find the wall displaying the large Chinese characters “营口” (Yingkou) for a photo. Then walk along the main street to the former Dongji Silver Exchange (东记银号) on the north side near the middle of the street, and look at its modern-era blend of Chinese and Western architectural features. Return along the same route. Allow about 1–1.5 hours.
Out-and-back route from the west archway to Laoye Pavilion
Enter through the west archway and walk east along the main street, passing Taishunxiang Tea House and the former Ruichangcheng shop before reaching Laoye Pavilion at the eastern end. Return along the same route. The main street is about 1.3 km one way and 2.6 km round trip; allow about 2–3 hours including stops. Whether the tea house and former shop are open to visitors depends on that day’s operating arrangements.
Planning an evening visit
In recent years, the street has held events such as Lantern Festival celebrations and a summer beer festival; dates and venues follow the annual notices. On an ordinary evening, shops and snack stalls do not share one set of opening hours. After an evening visit, return along the main street to your original entrance and follow on-site directions around any improvement-work barriers.
Get there
Buses and the city sightseeing line
Recent maps list Routes 1, 19, and 260 at the “辽河老街站” (Liaohe Old Street stop). Yingkou’s city micro-tour line, launched in 2026, also connects Old Street, Xipaotai, and Bird Wave Square. Check the day’s route notice for departure times, frequency, and last buses on the sightseeing line and city buses; confirm the last return service before setting out.
Driving and parking
Search for “辽河老街” (Liaohe Old Street) in your map app. There are entrance archways on the west and south sides of the street; you can enter near 西大庙(天后宫) (Xidamiao/Tianhou Temple) at the western end or from 辽河大街 (Liaohe Avenue). Reliable recent information about parking locations, spaces, and fees is not available. If driving, look for parking signs along the road, then walk into the street.
Know before you go
The street is free; venues and activities may cost extra
There is no admission fee for walking along the street. Museums, tea houses, shops, performances, food, and festival activities each have their own opening hours or charges. Visiting an indoor venue, eating, or attending a performance will add time to the visit.
Facilities and renovation notices
Street improvement works have included a visitor service center, public toilets, a nursing room, and rest areas. During recent upgrades, some facilities or walkways may be changed. Historic buildings are protected; do not write or carve on walls, trees, or public facilities. Confirm accessible routes and the opening status of indoor venues before your visit.
