How to Visit
1

Choose your uphill route first

Tianzi Mountain can be reached by scenic-area shuttle from Yuanjiajie, or by taking Tianzi Mountain Cableway from the Wulingyuan East Gate side.

Tip:If you have already visited Yuanjiajie first, Tianzi Mountain works well as the second half of the same day. If you want to avoid the usual crowd flow, you can go up by Tianzi Mountain Cableway first and continue toward Yuanjiajie afterward.
2

Start around Helong Park for the main views

A standard Tianzi Mountain visit usually centers on Helong Park, Yubi Peak, Fairy Presenting Flowers, and Tianzi Pavilion.

Tip:You do not need to follow every side path on a first visit. Focus on the wide peak-forest views and the clearest viewing platforms.
3

Use Tianzi Mountain as the easier finish to a mountain-top route

Many visitors visit Yuanjiajie first, continue to Tianzi Mountain, then descend by Tianzi Mountain Cableway.

Tip:This works well for a one-day highlights route because you are usually tired by the end of the day, and the cableway is more reliable than walking down.
4

Add Dianjiangtai and Shentang Bay only if you have time

Dianjiangtai and Shentang Bay are quieter and have good views, but they are not ideal to squeeze in when the day is already tight.

Tip:If you have spent a long time queuing, the weather is poor, or your group is tired, prioritize Helong Park, Yubi Peak, and your descent route.
5

Walk down only if you have strong stamina

There are walking routes down from the Tianzi Pavilion area, but the distance and stairs take real energy, and the path can be slippery after rain.

Tip:For most visitors, especially families with older travelers or children, descending by Tianzi Mountain Cableway is the better choice.
Highlights
  • Tianzi Mountain is strong for wide views over large areas of peak forest, mist, and layered ridges.
  • Yubi Peak and Fairy Presenting Flowers are two of the most recognizable stone formations.
  • Helong Park is an important stop on the standard route and a useful place to rest.
  • Dianjiangtai and Shentang Bay are quieter additions for visitors with more time.
  • Tianzi Mountain pairs naturally with Yuanjiajie and often serves as the key viewing and descent section of a mountain-top route.
Insider Tips

Tianzi Mountain Cableway usually requires a separate ticket, so do not confuse it with the core scenic-area admission.

Weather directly affects the value of Tianzi Mountain. In thick fog, do not spend too much time looping through every viewpoint.

Wind is stronger on the mountain than below, so bring a light layer in spring, autumn, winter, or after rain.

Afternoon queues for descending can be long, so avoid scheduling a tight train, bus, dinner booking, or evening show afterward.

If you have already seen many peak-forest views in Yuanjiajie, do not chase every stop in Tianzi Mountain. Choose the clearest viewpoints and keep the route moving.
