A combined ticket for Liujingtan and Heshangtao
Liuhe Chaoyang Scenic Area consists of two sections: Liujingtan and Heshangtao. They are about 3.5 kilometres apart and connected by a walking path and free shuttle. The Liujingtan entrance is closer to the lighthouse and early-morning viewpoint; Heshangtao has the entrance at the other end of the loop.
The reference combined ticket is CNY 90, valid for 24 hours and allowing multiple entry according to the ticket rules. In the high season, roughly May 1 to October 10, reference hours are 04:00–18:30. Low-season hours are shorter and may start at 08:00; the opening time may be adjusted around sunrise.
Allow 2–2.5 hours for a short route or 3–4 hours for the full visit. The ticket and shuttle are part of this attraction's arrangements and are separate from Jihu Beach and other Shengsi viewpoints.

Liujingtan's lighthouse and cliff coast
Liujingtan focuses on the white lighthouse, coastal walkway and cliff views. Morning light and sea conditions change quickly, making it useful for lighthouse and coast photography; at midday, sun and wind become the main considerations.
The loop near the entrance suits first-time and time-limited visitors. Anyone walking the full coastal path should be comfortable with slopes, sea wind and a longer period beside the cliffs.
Heshangtao and the connection between the two
Heshangtao is the other section of the combined ticket. Reach it by shuttle or the walking path after Liujingtan, according to the day's operation. The shuttle saves energy, but service times and waiting follow the on-site schedule.
Both sections focus on coast, walkways and viewpoints. You do not need to rush through every corner to use the ticket. Choose one section for sunrise and leave the other for daytime walking if that gives you a better pace.
Who is it for?
The area suits photographers, coastal walkers and visitors who want to see the lighthouse. Older adults and children can use the sightseeing vehicle and take a shorter walk. Visitors uncomfortable with coastal paths, wind or long walking should reduce the length of the loop.
Build your day
A 2–2.5-hour short route
Enter at Liujingtan and, if the service is running, take the sightseeing vehicle toward the lighthouse. Walk the main path to the key viewpoints, then return to the Liujingtan entrance. The reference sightseeing-vehicle fare is CNY 5; service and ticketing follow the day's arrangements.
This suits visitors with limited time or energy. If you arrive early, confirm the path and shuttle back to the entrance before focusing on the lighthouse so that the return walk is not overlooked.
A 3–4-hour full route
Enter at Liujingtan and walk to the lighthouse and coastal walkway. Complete the main open areas, take the free shuttle to Heshangtao, visit that section and leave through the Heshangtao exit. Walking the full 3.5 kilometres between them adds both time and energy.
The full route suits visitors who are not catching a tight boat and are comfortable walking the coast. In strong wind, on slippery paths or when the group tires, finish at Liujingtan rather than forcing the second section just to use the combined ticket.
Morning and evening timing
For sunrise, confirm the seasonal opening time and local sunrise time, then allow for entry, walking and waiting. Sunrise, sunset and sea colour depend on the weather; the safe route matters more than a particular photo position.
Get there
From Sijiao Island's Lizhushan Pier
After arriving at Lizhushan Pier, use an island bus, taxi or rental vehicle to reach the Chaoyang North Road area in Huicheng'ao Village, Wulong Township. There is no metro. Early openings may begin before buses operate, so arrange a vehicle in advance if you plan to arrive before dawn.
Liujingtan and Heshangtao have separate entrances. Tell the driver which entrance you need. If you plan to finish at Heshangtao, also confirm the pickup point at that exit.
Shuttle and walking
A free shuttle connects Liujingtan and Heshangtao. Its frequency and stops follow the day's operation. The walking path has slopes, so wear grippy shoes, carry enough water and add a light jacket when the sea wind is strong.
Know before you go
Early opening and changing weather
The high-season opening may begin at 04:00, while the low-season opening is later; the time can be adjusted around sunrise. Rain, fog and strong wind affect visibility, boats and walkway safety. Do not wait for long in an exposed coastal position.
Stay on the path when taking photographs. Do not cross barriers, stand at a cliff edge or enter wet rocks. If the wind suddenly strengthens, return to the main path or another safe area.
Tickets and supplies
The combined ticket's validity and re-entry rules follow the ticket issued that day. The sightseeing vehicle, food and other transport are separate. Food choices inside are limited, so long-route visitors should bring water and simple food.
Older adults and children can choose one section or use the shuttle. If you still need to catch a boat, return to your accommodation or visit Jihu Beach, do not place the full loop at the very end of the day.
