Jingzhongfang, Shiquan Shrine and the kneeling figures
Jingzhongfang is the temple's front gate. The archway carries the inscription “Temple of the Loyal Martial King Yue of Song,” while the two side walls carry the characters “loyalty” and “filial piety.” After entering, visit Shiquan Shrine and the five kneeling figures to the right of the gate, where the temple's historical narrative is presented through buildings and figures.
The five kneeling figures stand in front of Shiquan Shrine facing Yue Fei's hall. This section suits visitors who want to start with the temple layout and its historical displays; use the on-site explanations for the background rather than replacing it with emotional language.
The Main Hall, Xianmu Shrine and the new memorial hall
The Main Hall contains a painted seated statue of Yue Fei with the gilded “Return Our Rivers and Mountains” plaque above it. Xianmu Shrine contains a sculpture of Yue Fei's mother teaching him the characters associated with loyalty. Visitors interested in Yue Fei's life and Song history can complete these stops in the old compound before entering the new memorial hall.
The Second Hall has a stone carving of the “Chu Shi Biao,” and the new hall adds biographical and historical context. The regular route is mainly through courtyards and indoor displays.
Build your day
About 1 hour: the main architectural route
Enter through Jingzhongfang, visit Shiquan Shrine and the five kneeling figures, then pass through the gate to the Main Hall. Focus on the seated statue of Yue Fei and the “Return Our Rivers and Mountains” plaque. This route covers the temple's main buildings and historical figures in a short visit.
Leave through the old compound's marked exit and follow the on-site route. The ticket includes both the old compound and the new memorial hall, but a short visit should prioritise Jingzhongfang, Shiquan Shrine, the kneeling figures and the Main Hall.
About 2 hours: the old compound and new memorial hall
After Jingzhongfang, Shiquan Shrine, the five kneeling figures and the Main Hall, continue to Xianmu Shrine and the Second Hall for the sculpture of Yue Fei's mother and the “Chu Shi Biao” stone carving. Then pass through the rear garden to the new memorial hall, which adds information about Yue Fei's life and the period.
Yue Fei Temple and Youli City are about 10–15 minutes apart by car and can form a Tangyin half-day route. Their tickets and opening hours are separate.

From Anyang and Tangyin
Driving takes about one hour from central Anyang and about 40 minutes from Linzhou. Parking is available around the site. By public transport, take a train from Anyang Railway Station to Tangyin Station, a journey of about 15 minutes, then take a taxi or walk for about 10–15 minutes to the temple.
Set the destination to “Yue Fei Temple” and enter through Jingzhongfang on Wenhua Street. The drive within Tangyin County is short, but visitors arriving by train still need to arrange the walk or a short transfer from Tangyin Station.

Discounted admission and route order
The adult ticket is about CNY 50. Teachers can receive about half-price admission with the required certificate, while other visitors eligible for free admission need on-site verification. The old compound and new memorial hall are included in the main ticket; on a short visit, walk through the old compound first and add the new hall if time allows.
The Main Hall, Xianmu Shrine and five kneeling figures present specific historical figures and commemorative displays. Use the museum explanations for context. The old compound is mainly a courtyard and indoor-display route, so comfortable shoes are sufficient for the regular visit.
