Plan at a glance
Location and entrance
Da'an Nenjiang Bay is in Da'an, Baicheng. The park brings together Nen River wetlands, a lookout, gardens, docks and fishing-and-hunting heritage sites. Enter through the South Gate; the visitor centre and main parking area are nearby. Lao Kanzi Pier (老坎子) is a stop inside the park, not a separate attraction.
Tickets, transport and time
The park itself has no admission fee, but visitors must book online under their real name for a specific time slot. Scan your booking code at the reserved time, and bring the original ID card required for verification. The South Gate is the listed entrance; sightseeing buses, boat trips and other activities cost extra. The park's website lists opening hours of 7:30 am–5:30 pm and ticket sales until 5:00 pm, while Trip.com shows 8:00 am–5:00 pm. Check the day's notice because the times differ.
Allow 2–3 hours for a short sightseeing-bus visit, or about 4–6 hours if you add the Fishing and Hunting Museum, boardwalk and any water activities operating that day. Check bus and boat fares and routes through the official sales channels. Before boarding, confirm the service area and return arrangements.

Choose your visit
Views from the Liao Imperial Fish-Viewing Pavilion (辽皇观鱼台)
The Liao Imperial Fish-Viewing Pavilion is the main elevated viewpoint over the wetlands and Nenjiang Bay, with views of the river, reeds and park landscape. Tower access and visibility depend on weather and operating arrangements. Follow on-site directions and do not delay your return to wait for sunset.
Huayi Tongfeng Courtyard (华夷同风院) and Lao Kanzi Pier
Huayi Tongfeng Courtyard has pavilions, covered walkways and water features in a traditional garden style, making it a place for a relaxed walk and photos. Lao Kanzi is a pier within the park near the Nen River shore. The park uses the Liao dynasty's spring fishing-and-hunting tradition as a historical theme; the garden and reconstructed displays are not original Liao-era buildings.
Fishing and Hunting Museum and wetland boardwalk
The Fishing and Hunting Museum covers local fishing and hunting culture and is listed as closed on Mondays. A section of the park's wooden boardwalk can add a wetlands walk; the length open to visitors depends on current conditions. These stops suit visitors interested in local life and ecology and provide a break between time outdoors at the pavilion.
Families and water activities
Families can choose among the sightseeing bus, Fishing and Hunting Museum and the family-friendly animal area (萌宠乐园), if open, depending on children's ages and interests. Boat trips from Lao Kanzi Pier focus on wetland sightseeing, while trips to Nabo Island (捺钵岛) use a different departure pier. Check the current route, departure point and return service before buying tickets. Pets are not allowed in the park.
Build your day
Two- to three-hour viewpoint route
Enter through the South Gate and take the sightseeing bus to the Liao Imperial Fish-Viewing Pavilion for the views. Then ride to Huayi Tongfeng Courtyard for a walk, followed by Lao Kanzi Pier for the riverbank and reeds. Allow time to walk between stops and wait for the bus. Return to the South Gate by bus and leave before the park closes.
Four- to six-hour wetland and culture route
Visit the pavilion, Huayi Tongfeng Courtyard and Lao Kanzi first, then continue to the Fishing and Hunting Museum; remember that it is closed on Mondays. Add a section of the wooden boardwalk if the weather is suitable and it is open. Nabo Island can be a separate boat option: confirm its pier, departure times, stops and return service first. Do not plan the Lao Kanzi and Nabo Island trips as one route. Choose the animal area only if it is operating that day; not every site is open every day.
Get there
From Baicheng
The park is in Da'an, about 80 km from central Baicheng. Driving is recommended; public transport connections are limited. Set your navigation app to “Da'an Nenjiang Bay Tourism Area” and use the South Gate as the entrance. At the visitor centre, confirm the bus stops, the day's route and the return schedule.
Getting around the park
The park is large. Sightseeing-bus information lists Routes 1 and 2 and describes where to board and get off, but routes and service depend on the day. Walking works for nearby gardens and piers; you do not need to use the bus for the entire visit. If you take a boat, confirm the latest arrangement for returning to the South Gate after disembarking.
Know before you go
Fees and opening
The park has no admission fee, but entry requires a real-name reservation for a time slot, a booking-code scan and the original ID card for verification. Visitors using a foreign passport or another form of ID issued outside mainland China should confirm in advance through the park's official channels which booking document is accepted, how real-name checks work and what to do at the entrance. Pets are not allowed. The official ticket instructions list opening hours of 7:30 am–5:30 pm and ticket sales until 5:00 pm; Trip.com recently showed 8:00 am–5:00 pm, so confirm the day's hours through an official channel. Official sales channels include the park website, its official WeChat account and app, the on-site ticket window, and Meituan or Trip.com only where authorized. Sightseeing buses and boat trips cost extra. Boat services are seasonal: the official site announced the start of sailings on April 30, 2026, and posted a winter suspension notice on October 19, 2025. Do not assume last year's suspension dates apply this year. The Fishing and Hunting Museum is closed on Mondays. Plan boat trips and sunset viewing around the final departure and park closing time.
Weather, walking and supplies
Mosquitoes are common in the wetlands; bring repellent in summer. Shops inside the park are limited, so carry drinking water. Use the pavilion, waterside facilities and boardwalk only when open, follow signs, and do not cross barriers or enter closed areas. Sightseeing-bus queues may be longer on public holidays.
Food and breaks
Dining and supply options inside the park are limited, so consider returning to Da'an for a full meal. Local menus may include river fish and iron-pot stews; choose a fully cooked fish dish. Restaurant service can vary, so treat individual visitor reviews as anecdotal.
