How to Visit
1

Come if you self-drive and are willing to walk

Tongtianhe is in the Feng County direction, not close to Baoji city, and the scenic area is fairly large.

Tip:It suits self-driving visitors who enjoy forest routes and mountain walking. It is less suitable if you only want easy photos with minimal walking.
2

Choose between Lianhua Mountain and the alpine stone forest

For an easier visit, start with Lianhua Mountain.

Tip:The route is lighter, with forest atmosphere and mountain scenery. The alpine stone forest is more distinctive, but it takes more energy and suits visitors who want a deeper hike.
3

Do not expect many entertainment projects

Tongtianhe is mainly about forest, stone forest, gorges, and cool mountain air.

Tip:It is not a scenic area built around rafting, cableways, or large amusement projects. Set your expectations around nature walking and the visit will make more sense.
4

Do not be too greedy on a one-day trip

If you are visiting as a same-day round trip, choose either Lianhua Mountain plus a few nearby stops, or go deeper into the stone forest alone.

Tip:Walking and driving between areas both take time, and the return route is also mountainous.
5

Stay overnight for the deeper areas

If you want cloud views, primitive forest, stone forest scenery, and a quieter Qinling mountain experience, stay inside the scenic area or near Tangzang Town.

Tip:Go deeper on the first day, then use the next morning for forest light and quieter trails.
Highlights
  • Tongtianhe is known for alpine stone forest, forest, gorges, and the southern Qinling climate.
  • Lianhua Mountain is easier and better for normal visitors or families.
  • The alpine stone forest is more visually distinctive but more demanding.
  • Primitive forest and Journey to the West-related cultural stops add variety to the route.
  • Summer cooling and autumn mountain color are both good reasons to visit, but rainy days make roads and steps harder.
Insider Tips

Self-driving is the easiest option; public transport and transfers are less flexible than city attractions.

Food choices inside the scenic area are limited, so bring water and simple food.

Mornings and evenings are cool in the mountains, so bring a light jacket even in summer.

Do not rely on old guides mentioning rafting, cableways, or similar projects; follow current on-site operation.

With children or older visitors, prioritize Lianhua Mountain and skip the deeper stone forest route if needed.
