The reference full-price ticket is CNY 50. Students and visitors aged 60–64 receive half-price admission with valid proof, while visitors aged 65 and over and children under 1.2 m enter free. Reference opening hours are 08:30–18:00, and reservations are usually not required. Ticket prices, opening arrangements and online booking channels should be confirmed for the day of your visit.

Choose your visit

Start at Qiaowang Tower, then go underground

The Jian'an Literature Museum inside Qiaowang Tower introduces Cao Cao, Cao Pi, Cao Zhi and the Seven Scholars of Jian'an. If you are interested in Three Kingdoms history or Jian'an literature, spend some time here before entering the underground section through the entrance inside the tower.

The underground route includes a single-file passage, two-level sections, obstacle sections, cat-ear hiding holes and trip boards. The tunnel is low, narrow and dimly lit. Its brick walls and stairs are suitable for photos, but a phone's night or low-light mode will help.

The live show is an optional same-day activity

The venue may stage the live performance “The Disappearance of Cao Cao,” which lasts about 20 minutes. Check the day's schedule after you arrive, then decide whether to include the show in your visit; any additional charge can change.

Build your day

The full route: about 1–1.5 hours

Enter through Qiaowang Tower, visit the Jian'an Literature Museum, then continue into the underground military tunnel. Follow the on-site direction through the single-file passage, two-level sections, obstacle sections, cat-ear hiding holes and trip boards. After the tunnel, decide whether to watch “The Disappearance of Cao Cao” according to that day's show schedule.

The main experience is underground, so stopping only at the entrance and Qiaowang Tower leaves out the central part of the visit. The currently open underground section is about 700 m, and the actual visit time also depends on walking speed and the area open that day.

Get there

Bus, taxi and parking

Bozhou currently has no metro. From Bozhou South Railway Station, change to a bus or take a taxi to the entrance on Renmin Road. If driving, set the destination to “Cao Cao Underground Military Tunnel”; the venue's car park has a reference rate of CNY 10 per day, subject to the arrangement on the day.

The tunnel is in an old-city area with several nearby attractions, so it can be visited on the same day as Huaxi Theatre or Nanjing Lane Money House. Those attractions have their own entrances, ticketing and final-entry arrangements.

Know before you go

Access conditions and safety

The underground passage is low, narrow and damp. The floor may be slippery after rain, and ventilation is limited. Visitors with claustrophobia, heart or breathing difficulties, reduced mobility or a tall build should decide first whether the route is suitable; visitors around 1.75 m or taller may need to bend frequently.

Wear shoes with good grip. The tunnel network is about 8 km long, but the section currently open to visitors is about 700 m. When buying a package ticket, confirm the sales channel and the attractions and activities actually included; roadside or unauthorised packages may not cover what you want to see.
