The free park and the separately ticketed memorial hall
Weiwu Shrine, also known as Cao Cao Memorial Hall, is at No. 179 Shaohua Road inside Cao Cao Park in Qiaocheng District. Enter through the park's South Gate, then walk to Weiwu Shrine. The park's public area is free, while Weiwu Shrine requires a separate ticket. Allow about 1 hour for a complete visit, including the Four Mounds (四孤堆), the three themed galleries and the Three Cao poetry stele corridor.
The reference ticket price for Weiwu Shrine is CNY 20. Students and visitors aged 60–64 receive half-price admission with valid proof, while visitors aged 65 and over and children under 1.2 m enter free. Reference hours are 09:00–17:30, and reservations are usually not required. Ticket prices, concessions, open areas and ticketing channels follow the arrangement on the day of your visit.

See Cao Cao Park first, then choose whether to enter the shrine
After entering through the South Gate, start with the park setting around the Four Mounds (四孤堆), which are associated with the Cao family tombs. Then follow the path towards Weiwu Shrine. The Four Mounds area has more of a tomb-site setting and helps explain the spatial relationship between the park and the Cao clan tombs.
Weiwu Shrine itself is a later-built memorial and interpretive exhibition venue for Cao Cao. It is not Cao Cao's tomb. For actual excavated artifacts, visit Bozhou Museum separately; for an outdoor tomb-site setting, stay in the Four Mounds area of Cao Cao Park.
Themed galleries, battle map and Three Cao poetry steles
The shrine has three themed galleries on Cao Cao as a statesman, military leader and writer. They include a Guandu battle sand table, the Cao family genealogy and a life-size wax figure of Cao Cao. Visitors interested in Three Kingdoms history and Cao Wei culture can compare this interpretive display with the excavated artifacts at the museum.
The Three Cao poetry stele corridor carries poems by Cao Cao, Cao Pi and Cao Zhi, including “Duan Ge Xing (短歌行).” The large Cao Cao statue at the entrance and the poetry corridor between red walls and grey tiles are suitable photo spots. Pay attention to visitor flow and areas open to visitors when taking photos.

The park-to-shrine route: about 1 hour
Enter Cao Cao Park through the South Gate and follow the park path to the Four Mounds. Continue to the Weiwu Shrine entrance and buy a ticket there. Inside, visit the three themed galleries on politics, military affairs and literature, focusing on the Guandu battle sand table and the Cao family genealogy. Finish at the Three Cao poetry stele corridor, then leave through the North Gate or return the way you came.
This route separates the free park from the ticketed exhibition hall. If you only want the Four Mounds and the park setting, you can stay outside Weiwu Shrine; to learn more about Cao Cao's life and Cao Wei culture, buy a ticket for the indoor displays.
The Weiwu Shrine short route: about 20–30 minutes
With limited time, go directly from the park's South Gate to Weiwu Shrine. Pause at the large Cao Cao statue outside, then enter to see the Cao Cao wax figure and the Guandu battle sand table before leaving. This short route suits visitors who have already seen Bozhou Museum and only want to add the memorial exhibition.

Bus, cycling and park parking
Bozhou currently has no metro. Take a city bus to No. 179 Shaohua Road and enter through Cao Cao Park's South Gate, or change locally and use a shared e-bike. If driving, set the destination to “Cao Cao Park”; there is a free parking area by the park entrance, subject to spaces and access on the day.
Bozhou Museum and Weiwu Shrine are both on Shaohua Road. You can see the museum's Cao Wei artifacts first and then continue to Cao Cao Park. The two attractions have separate entrances; free admission to the museum and ticketed entry to Weiwu Shrine are handled separately, with no shared ticket.
Know before you go
The Four Mounds, Weiwu Shrine and Cao Teng's Tomb
The Four Mounds are in the public area of Cao Cao Park, while Weiwu Shrine is a separately ticketed memorial venue inside the park. Cao Teng's Tomb is an independent site at No. 1029 Weiwu Avenue, with a reference ticket price of about CNY 20. Opening and maintenance conditions can change considerably, so treat it as an optional place outside the Weiwu Shrine route and confirm it separately before your trip.
Weiwu Shrine mainly uses display panels, figures, a battle sand table, a genealogy and poetry steles. It suits visitors interested in Cao Cao and Cao Wei culture. If you expect to visit a tomb chamber or a large archaeological site, confirm the corresponding location and whether it is open that day.
