Plan at a glance

Free outdoor grounds and separate galleries

Changchun World Sculpture Park is at No. 9518 Renmin Street in Nanguan District. It works well as a half-day outdoor walk. Since August 15, 2025, the whole park has been free to enter, including the outdoor grounds and regular galleries when open. Special exhibitions, guided tours, the sightseeing shuttle, and winter activities may have separate charges; check the current notice.

The park lists hours of 05:00–22:00, while outdoor areas and galleries keep different schedules. Gallery hours of 08:00–19:00 in a 2025 notice applied only through October 1; later hours were to be announced. Check the entrances and gallery schedule for your visit day.

Choose between outdoor art, galleries, and seasonal activities

For outdoor sculptures and the area around Moore Lake (摩尔湖), allow about 1.5–2 hours, including the walk back. If you want to visit galleries, add 1–2 hours and check whether your chosen gallery is open that day. The park is large, and temporary exhibitions or maintenance can change which areas are accessible; allow some flexibility for walking and route changes.

Check the year’s notice for dates, evening access, and prices for the winter Snow and Ice Art World. The 2026 season ended on March 3; its CNY 69 adult price and 09:00–21:00 hours applied only during that event.

Choose your visit

Outdoor sculptures and the lake

Start at Rodin Square (罗丹广场) with *The Thinker*, then choose a section around Moore Lake or the “Friendship · Peace · Spring” sculpture area according to how much you want to walk. The *Thinker* displayed in Changchun is a reproduction cast from the original mold held by the Musée Rodin.

Choose galleries that are open that day

The park has several themed art galleries, and both their exhibitions and opening status can change. Check the visitor map and park notices at the entrance, then choose one or two galleries that are open.

Lake watching and family breaks

Moore Lake makes a good short stop. Whether waterbirds are present depends on the season and on-site management; do not feed them. Children’s sandpits, lawns, picnicking, and the winter snow valley have separate locations and seasonal rules. Before bringing food, using a play area, or entering a temporary event zone, check the signs for its opening status and rules.

For city-history galleries and the Jilin University off-campus branch, with a separate transfer, see Changchun Museum.

Build your day

A 1.5–2-hour outdoor out-and-back route

Enter through the West Gate near rail transit and visit Rodin Square first. Then choose a section around Moore Lake or the themed sculpture plaza using the visitor map, and return to the West Gate along the same route or a public path. This works for a short visit. Walking pace, breaks, and temporary barriers affect the time; using the same gate for entry and exit keeps the route short.

A 3–4-hour outdoor and gallery visit

Complete an outdoor sculpture route first, then use the day’s gallery schedule to visit one or two free galleries. Allow time for entry checks and walking within the park. If a gallery is under maintenance or temporarily closed, continue through open outdoor areas or shorten the plan to one gallery. Special exhibitions and paid experiences follow their current notices.

Visiting with children or in winter

With children, break the outdoor walk into shorter sections and stop in open rest areas. Use the visitor map to locate sandpits, drinking water, restrooms, and stroller access. For winter activities, check the event dates, ticket types, entry and exit rules, and which activities are open; any charges follow the current event notice.

Get there

Rail Transit Line 1

Take Line 1 to Municipal Government Station (市政府站) and use Exit B2 for the park’s West Gate; the map shows about 330 m between the exit and gate. The West and East Gates are far apart, so your choice changes the walking direction and distance. Check which entrance is open and whether construction barriers affect the route before you leave.

Buses and driving

Bus routes and stops may change. Use a map on the day of travel to check the route to your chosen entrance, the direction to walk after getting off, and the final approach; no bus is assumed to go directly to a gate. When driving, follow park signs to an available car park. Do not use an underpass area or roadside space as a park car park; confirm fees, capacity, and temporary traffic controls that day.

Getting around and leaving the park

The park shuttle and rental bicycles have separate charges and rules. A travel platform lists about CNY 10 as a reference price for a single shuttle service. Check the route, service frequency, current fare, bicycle return points, and rental hours on site. The short route assumes you return to the same gate; before leaving through another gate, confirm the exit and onward transport.

Know before you go

Free entry does not cover every activity

The outdoor grounds and regular galleries are free when open. Special exhibitions, guided tours, the sightseeing shuttle, and seasonal activities may cost extra; before buying, check the date, eligible visitors, what is included, and cancellation terms.

Galleries may close for maintenance

Galleries have routine equipment maintenance on Mondays. Notices from August and September 2026 said that maintenance could close all galleries while the outdoor grounds remained open. Check the latest notice or call 0431-85379019 or 0431-85379008, then adjust your route to the areas open that day.

Renovation work is scheduled to continue through December 30, 2026. Follow the barriers and park notices for the visitor routes, and check the entrance approach before you go.

Prices and seasonal hours change

Check the year’s notice for winter event dates and prices. Confirm opening hours separately for the outdoor grounds, indoor galleries, and evening events.

Etiquette, safety, and nearby attractions

Follow barriers and on-site instructions around sculptures and exhibits. Do not climb on or touch sculptures, or feed waterbirds. Check the park’s current rules for pets, drones, picnics, and photography. Jilin Provincial Museum, Jilin Science and Technology Museum, and Changchun Museum are elsewhere in the city and need separate plans.
