Location, tickets and opening
Jilue Huang Ancestral Hall is at No. 2 Tie Lane, Yian Road, near Kaiyuan Road and the old-city residential lanes. Admission is 10 CNY; students pay half price, while visitors over 60 and children below 1.2 metres enter free.
It is open Tuesday–Sunday from 08:30–17:30, with ticket sales ending at 17:00, and is closed on Mondays except public holidays.

Around 30 minutes: gate, worship pavilion and main hall
Enter through the main gate, examine the gatehouse stone carvings, the gilded wood carvings in the worship pavilion and the main hall’s Guo Ziyi Birthday Celebration scene.
1–1.5 hours: complete carving route
See the gatehouse’s Investiture of the Gods carvings, the worship pavilion and its eighteen golden phoenixes, the main-hall lacquer paintings, the courtyard and the rear details.
Old-city half-day route
Visit Kaiyuan Temple, Jilue Huang Ancestral Hall and Paifang Street, then continue to Guangji Bridge for the late-afternoon opening process or night views.
Build your day
Start with the worship pavilion
The pavilion’s beams, brackets and eaves bring together round carving, sunk relief and raised relief techniques. Use the provided binoculars or on-site interpretation tools to inspect the higher carving details.
Continue through hall, courtyard and gatehouse
The Guo Ziyi Birthday Celebration lacquer painting, golden phoenixes and gatehouse carvings are the main highlights. Use the courtyard and rear section to understand the hall’s overall spatial layout.
Get there
Bus, walking and cycling
Take the No. 3 inner-loop bus to a nearby stop, then walk into Tie Lane. The hall is easy to combine on foot with Kaiyuan Temple, Paifang Street and Xu Fuma Mansion.
Driving and parking
Use Fengcheng Park Parking Lot, around 6 CNY per visit, then walk about 10 minutes. Do not rely on finding parking in the old-city lanes.
Know before you go
Time, lighting and interpretation
Ticket sales stop at 17:00, so arrive by about 15:00. The halls can be dim; use the hall’s binoculars, QR interpretation or audio tools to understand the carving stories without disturbing other visitors.
Closure and comfort
The hall is closed on Mondays. Wear comfortable flat shoes on the stone paving; 09:00–10:00 and 15:00–16:00 are useful windows for avoiding tour groups.
