Huashan Rock Art is mainly a boat-based visit to cliff paintings, not a normal mountain-walking scenic area. Go to the visitor center first, then follow the boat schedule for the day.

Driving from Chongzuo South Railway Station or central Chongzuo is more direct than coming from Detian. If using rail, arrive at Ningming East Station, then take a taxi or local transfer to the visitor center.

Decide between distant viewing and the formal boat route

If you only want a distant view, you can go to a viewpoint across the river, but that is very different from the formal boat experience.

Tip:For a first visit and if you care about World Heritage sites, the boat route is the better choice.
