Start here
Xiaogang Village Rural Tourism Area is in Xiaoxihe Town, Fengyang. The visitor center is the main arrival point. The village area, free museums, the paid Dangnian Nongjia (当年农家), a recreated 1970s rural-life area, and the sightseeing vehicle are separate parts of the visit. Overall reference hours are about 08:00–17:00. Allow 3–4 hours for the full visit or 1.5–2 hours for a quick walk through the village and exterior areas.
Check the museums first
The opening status and individual-visitor registration process for the Dabaogan Memorial Hall and Shen Hao Advanced Deeds Exhibition Hall must be confirmed on the day. Ask at the visitor center about access and procedures after arrival, then decide whether to add Dangnian Nongjia or the sightseeing vehicle.
Who it suits
This half-day or full-day stop suits visitors interested in China's rural reform history, rural revitalization, and farming life. If the main museums cannot be entered that day, you can still see the village area, museum exteriors, and other points open to visitors, but the itinerary should be shortened accordingly.

Reform-history highlights
The Dabaogan Memorial Hall includes a reproduction of the contract bearing 18 red fingerprints and is the main museum for understanding Xiaogang Village's reform history; access must be checked on site. The Shen Hao Advanced Deeds Exhibition Hall presents the story of Shen Hao and themes of grassroots work. Its opening and the way individual visitors are handled follow the visitor center's arrangements that day.
The village and Dangnian Nongjia
Dangnian Nongjia recreates rural scenes with thatched cottages, rammed-earth houses, and old farm tools from the 1970s. The reference ticket is CNY 40. Public village spaces and some exteriors can be visited as free walking content. The two options have different ticketing and content, so combine them according to the day's access and your interests.
Choosing museums or rural scenes
If both museums are open to you, first see the exhibition related to the reproduced contract bearing 18 red fingerprints, then visit the Shen Hao exhibition, and finish with Dangnian Nongjia as the living-scene section. If the museums are not accessible, link the village public spaces, building exteriors, and any open farming-life areas instead.
For a different kind of Chuzhou day, see Chishan Lake National Wetland Park.
Build your day
The 3–4 hour full route
At the visitor center, first confirm museum opening and individual-visitor procedures. If both halls can be entered, visit the Dabaogan Memorial Hall first, then the Shen Hao Advanced Deeds Exhibition Hall. Continue to Dangnian Nongjia for about 1–1.5 hours, and finish in the village area or back at the visitor center. Choose walking or the sightseeing vehicle between the halls according to their actual positions and the day's signs.
The short route when a museum is closed
If the Dabaogan Memorial Hall cannot be entered, see its exterior and any information provided at the visitor center. Then walk or take the sightseeing vehicle through the village and finish at other points that are open. This route does not enter the memorial hall; the sightseeing vehicle is approximately CNY 10, with price and operation confirmed on the day.
When to use the sightseeing vehicle
The vehicle can reduce the distance between the visitor center, museums, and village area, but it does not replace museum admission. Complete any required museum registration first. If your group is happy to walk, save the vehicle for the return or for companions with less stamina, and avoid repeated backtracking through the village.
Get there
Driving to the visitor center
Navigate to “Xiaogang Village Visitor Center.” From the Ningluo Expressway, leave at the Fengyang/Xiaogang exit and follow S307 to the scenic area. The visitor center has free parking. Driving is especially useful for moving among the village, museums, and other Fengyang attractions; after parking, handle the day's arrangements at the visitor center first.
High-speed rail and county transport
From Bengbu South Railway Station, enter Fengyang County town and then take a taxi for about 20–30 minutes or transfer to a bus toward Xiaogang Village. The area is spread out; the sightseeing vehicle is approximately CNY 10 per person, with route and stops subject to that day's operation.
Know before you go
Free, paid, and registration arrangements
The village area and some halls are free. Individual registration or entry arrangements for the Shen Hao Advanced Deeds Exhibition Hall and Dabaogan Memorial Hall are confirmed on site. Dangnian Nongjia costs about CNY 40 by reference, while student discounts may change. The village, free halls, paid site, and sightseeing vehicle are handled separately, so organize the visit around what is open that day.
Opening status and food
Overall reference opening hours are about 08:00–17:00, but a main museum may close for repairs, temporary arrangements, or changes in registration policy. There are farmhouse restaurants and meal stops in the village; confirm prices before ordering. The walking area is broad, so wear comfortable shoes and treat the vehicle and museum arrangements as day-of-visit matters.
Final check before leaving
Before departure, confirm whether you still need the sightseeing vehicle, where to find a taxi, and whether any museum open that day has been completed. Confirm village meal and farmhouse-restaurant prices on site. If continuing to another Fengyang attraction, leave margin for walking through the village, waiting at museums, and the return journey.
