Choose attractions by area in Jinshitan
Jinshitan National Tourist Resort covers a large area, and attractions are far apart. Metro Line 3 takes about an hour from downtown to Jinshitan Station, where the visitor center is just outside the exit. On arrival, decide whether to spend your time at the geopark, Discoveryland or Golden Coast, then plan transport around that choice.
Dalian Coastal National Geopark is a separately ticketed attraction and takes about 3–4 hours to visit in full. Discoveryland is a ticketed theme park; allow 8–10 hours for a full visit. Golden Coast is free and has entrances numbered 1–7. A half day at the geopark plus a half day at the beach is a possible combination; Discoveryland should have the main part of its own day.
Metro station and resort shuttle
The resort shuttle serves the main attractions. An indicative fare is CNY 20 per person for unlimited rides that day; the last service is listed at around 17:00. Plan a geopark-and-beach half day during daylight and return to the visitor center before the last resort shuttle. This resort service is separate from the free red shuttle and CNY 10 electric cart inside the geopark.

Geology, theme park or beach
Choose Dalian Coastal National Geopark for coastal geology and shoreline paths. Discoveryland suits visitors who prefer rides and shows and can set aside a full day. Golden Coast is free and is suited to a seaside walk or a day on the sand. Each has separate admission and entry arrangements.
The geopark focuses on coastal landforms and walking. Discoveryland focuses on rides and shows, with night programs on some operating dates. They have separate tickets and schedules.
Golden Coast entrances
Golden Coast is a public beach open all day, with entrances numbered 1 through 7 along the shore. You can walk, enjoy the sea or take part in water activities. Jet skis, umbrellas and food stalls cost extra; availability depends on sea conditions and each operator’s schedule that day.
Build your day
Geopark first, then Golden Coast before the last shuttle
Start at the visitor center beside Jinshitan Station and spend 3–4 hours at Dalian Coastal National Geopark. Then take the resort shuttle to Golden Coast and walk or rest near one of entrances 1–7. This combination works only if you finish at the beach in time to catch the resort shuttle back to the visitor center, whose last service is listed at around 17:00. Allow time for walking and transfers within the resort.
If you plan to stay on the coast into the evening or at night, arrange a separate vehicle from the beach to the visitor center or downtown. Do not rely on a return service after the resort shuttle’s last departure unless you have confirmed one.
Spend a separate day at Discoveryland
From the visitor center, take the shuttle route operating that day to Discoveryland and allow 8–10 hours for the theme park. The park has its own ticket, entrance, opening hours and night-program schedule. If Discoveryland is the main activity, visit the geopark or Golden Coast on another day.
Get there
Metro and visitor center
Take Dalian Metro Line 3 to Jinshitan Station; the journey takes about an hour and the fare is listed at around CNY 8. The visitor center is just outside the station, where you can transfer to resort shuttles for the main attractions. For the return to downtown, check the last train from Jinshitan toward the city; the last train in the outbound direction is not the return timetable.
Know before you go
Separate tickets and schedules
Indicative tickets for the geopark are CNY 60 in peak season and CNY 40 in the off-season. Discoveryland requires a separate ticket, while Golden Coast is free. The geopark’s indicative peak-season hours are 08:30–17:00; check the day’s notice for other seasons and individual venues.
The resort shuttle’s last service is listed at around 17:00. Last-train times differ by direction. Check the final Line 3 departure from Jinshitan Station toward central Dalian, and allow enough time to return to the station from the beach. A train running after 17:00 does not solve the separate transfer from the coast back to the visitor center.
Activities along the coast
Food and water activities along Golden Coast cost extra. Sea conditions, weather and opening hours affect whether they are available.
