Indoor retro district, admission and hours
Andong Old Street is an indoor retro-style cultural and commercial district in Zhenxing District, Dandong. Its architecture and sets draw on the streets and shops of old Andong in the 1920s and 1930s; it is not a century-old street preserved in its original form. The complex combines local snacks, creative products, intangible-heritage displays and nostalgic photo settings. It was named a National Tourist and Leisure Block in 2025. It also works as a separate indoor stop for a meal and a rest in central Dandong.
Entry is free and no reservation is required. Most areas usually begin opening around 10:00. Plan to finish the main visit before 21:00; individual shops and performances may close at different times. Allow about 1–1.5 hours for the Level 2 displays, or 2–3 hours if you include food and shopping on Level 1 (ground floor).

Level 1 (ground floor): Dandong snacks and local food
Level 1 has local snacks and restaurants serving chao chazi (炒叉子, stir-fried local rice noodles), Korean-style rice cakes (朝鲜打糕), yogurt-filled zongzi, seafood barbecue, Dandong menzi (焖子, a savory fried starch-jelly snack), and grilled cold noodles. To try several dishes, first walk around to compare menus, portions and prices, then choose a combination that suits your group and leaves room for other stalls.
Level 2: creative goods, crafts and nostalgic sets
Level 2 has more than nostalgic sets: visitors can find creative products, handicrafts, intangible-heritage displays, souvenirs and children's activities. There are also old photo-studio scenes, sewing setups and traditional home interiors. Walk through the indoor streets to see the old street names, imitation shop signs and craft displays. Check the activity and price before joining a paid experience.
Old street names, Liu Yuning photo spots and folk performances
The indoor streets use historic Andong names such as Zhongfu Street, Tianhougong Street, Xinglong Street and Jubao Street as themed decoration. Visitors can see several styles of nostalgic streetscape without leaving the indoor complex. There are also Liu Yuning fan photo spots and recreated livestream scenes. The district has hosted folk performances such as rickshaw rides, patrols by performers dressed as old-style police, sanxian drum storytelling and stage shows, but the same programme is not guaranteed every day. If you are visiting for a specific show or fan photo spot, confirm the day's schedule and whether that area is open.

A 1–1.5-hour culture and photo visit
Enter through the Andong Old Street entrance and start upstairs with the nostalgic sets and creative-product area. Then see the craft or intangible-heritage displays that are open, followed by the fan photo area. If you are taking photos without joining extra activities, about 1–1.5 hours covers the main second-floor sights.
A 2–3-hour food and street visit
Start on Level 1 by checking the menus at different snack stalls, then eat at one or several places with portions that suit your group. Continue to Level 2 for the recreated streetscape, creative products and fan photo spots. If a folk performance is scheduled that day, adjust the order and go to the performance area at the announced time. This avoids waiting for a showtime that has not been confirmed. The route suits visitors who want to spend part of an afternoon or the period around dinner on local food and indoor commercial culture.

Search directly for Andong Old Street (安东老街) in your navigation app and confirm that the destination is the indoor district in Zhenxing District, Dandong; do not rely on a street number alone. Bus options may include the 888 Riverside Line (888 沿江线), 888 Anmin Line (888 安民线) and L3 Tourist Sightseeing Line (L3 旅游观光线). Before leaving Dandong Railway Station or your accommodation, check the route direction, stop and return service for the day.

The district can be crowded on holidays and around dinner time. Queues for Level 1 food and Level 2 activities can affect how long you stay.
