Location and visit scope
Yalu River Broken Bridge is at No. 0 Jiang'an Road, Dandong, with the main entrance near the bridgehead. The visit focuses on the surviving bridge structure and its historical panels. The riverside walkway outside the bridge is a separate area with different opening arrangements.
The bridge still shows the blast gap, bullet marks and twisted steel girders left by wartime bombing. The China–North Korea Friendship Bridge runs alongside it and remains in use; visitors can see it from the broken bridge, but the ticket does not allow cross-border passage.
Tickets and hours
The ticket costs CNY 30 and is sold at the entrance; no reservation is required. Minors, university students and visitors aged 60 or older may qualify for a CNY 15 concession. Visitors aged 70 or older, people with disabilities and active-duty service members, among others, may qualify for free admission under the applicable rules. Eligibility is checked against the ticket type and valid identification at purchase.
A reopening notice published by Dandong Cultural Tourism Group on August 25, 2026, lists opening hours of 08:00–20:30, with ticket sales and entry ending at 20:00. Holiday hours are announced separately. Check the latest attraction notice before setting out.

The bridge and wartime remains
The bridge's broken section, bullet marks and twisted girders are the main sights. Historical panels along the route explain the bridge and its wartime background. Reading them gives more context than taking photos only at the bridgehead.
Views of both bridges and riverside photos
From the bridge, visitors can see both the broken bridge and the China–North Korea Friendship Bridge. For a full view of the bridge, look for a viewpoint below the sculpture on the north side or along the riverside walkway. The plaque at the bridgehead works well for an entrance photo; the broken section can be framed with the Friendship Bridge in the background.
This stop suits visitors interested in modern history, bridge remains or border-river scenery. It is a memorial site, so keep your voice low and avoid blocking the path while taking photos.
For another central Dandong stop focused on modern history, see Memorial Hall of the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea.
Build your day
A 30-minute bridge walk
Buy a ticket at the main entrance, walk along the bridge to the broken section, about 200 metres one way, and return by the same route. Allow about 30 minutes for the bridge walk; this does not include the riverside path outside the bridge.
Bridge panels and a riverside walk
With 1–2 hours, read the historical panels on the bridge, then walk down to the riverside path for a full-length view. The area below the riverside sculpture, the bridgehead plaque and the broken section offer different photo angles. Finish near the bridgehead.
Get there
Bus, walking and taxi
Buses including routes 105, 121 and 128 stop at Yalu River Broken Bridge (鸭绿江断桥站); walk from the stop to the entrance. Check the stop sign for the correct boarding point and current route.
Dandong Railway Station is about 1.2 km away, or roughly a 20-minute walk along Qijing Street. Taxis in central Dandong can also go to the main entrance of Yalu River Broken Bridge.

Last entry and concession documents
Ticket sales and entry end at 20:00, so arrive before then if you plan to walk onto the bridge. Holiday hours may differ. Bring the document required for any concession. Visitors with a foreign student card should not assume it qualifies for a student discount; buy tickets according to the applicable ticket rules.
Telescopes and souvenir stalls may be set up near the bridgehead and riverside. Ask about prices and services before buying. Do not buy cross-border tours or boat trips from roadside touts; visiting the bridge or taking a city cruise does not authorize cross-border travel.
Food nearby
Restaurants in Dandong serve seafood barbecue, including yellow clams and scallops, as well as local dishes such as menzi, fried chazi noodles and cold noodles. Search for a specific restaurant by name and check its hours for the day.
