Location, ship background and boarding restriction
Dandong Ship Scenic Area is at Langtou Port in Zhenxing District, Dandong. Its main attraction is a decommissioned guided-missile frigate moored at Pier No. 2 of Langtou Port (浪头港 2 号码头). Search for Dandong Ship Scenic Area in your navigation app. This is not the “Tourist Pier No. 2” near the city-center river cruise by Broken Bridge. The ship's hull number is 543. It served in the Chinese navy for about 36 years and is roughly 103 metres long and 11 metres wide; visitors can see how compact its interior is compared with an ordinary passenger boat.
Trip.com currently states that boarding is restricted to Chinese citizens and that non-Chinese nationals are not permitted to board. Visitors with foreign passports must not buy a boarding ticket or plan to board. Holders of other documents should ask the attraction which documents qualify before buying. For ticket questions, call 0415-3873171. A ticket being available online does not confirm that your document qualifies for entry.
Tickets, hours and visit length

Child, student and senior discounts do not remove the boarding-document restriction.

Forward weapons area and main deck
From the main deck, visitors can see the bow gun, anti-ship missile launchers and the arrangement of equipment on deck. Dandong Ship is a retired military vessel, not an active warship. The interest is in its structure and former naval life; visitors cannot freely operate the equipment. Stay within areas open to visitors and follow the photography rules.
Bridge, lower-deck rooms and life aboard
If the bridge is open, visitors can see how the navigation and command spaces relate to the deck. Lower-deck areas show sailors' berths, the kitchen and older facilities. Moving between decks involves narrow, steep ladders, unlike the level galleries of a typical museum. Ask which passageways are open that day if you want to see the bridge and living areas. Visitors who cannot manage steep ladders should not plan a standard boarding route.
Build your day
A one-hour highlights visit
After document checks, start on the main deck with the bow weapons and exterior equipment. Then follow the day's open route through the bridge and some of the living quarters, and return to the exit along the designated path. About an hour covers the main areas, but not every room or piece of equipment is necessarily open to the public.
An extended 1–2-hour visit
For a closer look, add the lower-deck berths, kitchen and any open stern areas to the main deck and bridge. Allow about 1.5–2 hours. Watch the stair direction, headroom and return route before entering a compartment. If an area is closed, do not cross barriers or use staff-only passages.
Get there
Getting to Langtou Port
The attraction is not in the walking area around Broken Bridge beside Dandong Railway Station. Buses 303 and 888, as well as the Red Tourism Line L1, are possible routes to Langtou Port; from there, walk about 500 metres to the entrance. A taxi from central Dandong takes about 20 minutes, depending on where you start. Check the direction and current timetable before taking a bus. By car, navigate to Dandong Ship Scenic Area and do not select Tourist Pier No. 2 for the city cruise.
Know before you go
Steep ladders, footwear and on-site services
The ship's ladders are steep and narrow. Flat, non-slip shoes are a safer choice. Adults should supervise children throughout and avoid carrying them through crowded ladders. There is no restroom aboard, so use the facilities on shore before boarding. Guided tours may not run on a fixed daily schedule. For a guide, accessibility service or document check, call 0415-3873171 in advance.
