How to Visit
1

Enter through the east main gate and check the day's route information first

Go to 1 Yuehui Road, Daojiao Town, and enter through the east main gate. Entry is free and normally needs no reservation, but boat rides, Hanfu rental, and some family attractions charge separately. The garden generally opens 08:00-18:00, with last entry at 17:30.

Tip:Yuehui Garden is large, and maintenance may change which areas are passable. Checking the route first saves energy and prevents unnecessary backtracking.
2

Follow the main route of Bai Fu Hui Chun, Lotus Bathing Pond, Fan Tower, and Huan Cui Corridor

Start with the Bai Fu Hui Chun screen wall near the east gate, then continue via Lotus Bathing Pond and Fan Tower, following Huan Cui Corridor toward Wuyuan Archway, Guishui Bridge, and Nanyun Hall. First-time visitors should allow 3-4 hours.

Tip:This route connects the garden's most important brick carving, buildings, water views, and long corridor in one practical loop, without crossing the garden repeatedly for individual sights.
3

Use Huan Cui Corridor as the walking backbone rather than trying to cover every side path

The corridor connects several garden areas. Choose courtyards and water views along the main route for stops; families can substitute Butterfly Island, a boat ride, or a lakeside rest.

Tip:The garden is large, and long walks plus occasional steps can add up. Completing one clear route is more rewarding than rushing through every section.
4

Finish the main garden route before evening, then plan food and your return

If arriving in the afternoon, see the main buildings and corridor first, then pause at Guishui Bridge or by the lake. Food choices inside are limited, so plan meals ahead or carry water and light snacks.

Tip:Waterside and shaded areas have more mosquitoes, while supplies and transport options become less convenient later in the day. Do not leave your route until last entry or closing time.
Highlights
  • The Bai Fu Hui Chun screen wall is a large brick-carving landmark and a clear starting point after entering the garden.
  • Huan Cui Corridor connects courtyards, water views, and buildings while offering useful shade in hot weather.
  • Fan Tower gives the garden a more open architectural scale through its large traditional-style building group.
  • Wuyuan Archway, Guishui Bridge, and lake reflections make practical short stops along the main walking route.
  • The garden combines garden walking, lakeside rest, and some family activities, allowing visitors to adjust the visit to their energy level.
Insider Tips

Free entry does not mean every activity is free. Decide on boat rides, rental, or family attractions according to their separate prices on the day.

The garden is large, so wear comfortable non-slip flat shoes. Visitors with strollers should allow extra time for steps and narrower sections.

Waterside and densely planted areas have many mosquitoes. Long sleeves, insect repellent, and water are more useful than extra photography props.

Weekends and holiday afternoons are busier. Enter earlier if you want to complete the full main route.

Maintenance areas and closed side paths can change. Do not treat a single photo spot as essential to the visit.
