Plan at a glance
The launch and finish are in different places
Red River Valley Rafting is in Sanshidaohe Village (三十道河村), Dasuhe Township, Qingyuan Manchu Autonomous County, Fushun. Drivers should first go to the parking and ticket-check area specified in their ticket information, then take the scenic area shuttle to the actual launch dock. The service area at the finish is the end of this one-way trip. The exact locations of the car park, launch dock and return-shuttle stop at the finish are set by the scenic area on the day.
The one-way river route is 12.8 km long and takes about 2.5–3 hours on the water. That estimate excludes the entry shuttle, queues, showering and retrieving your car, so allow at least half a day on weekends.
Season, tickets and check-in
Rafting is a summer activity and does not operate year-round. In the past two years, the season opened in mid to late June: an opening ceremony was held on June 22, 2025, and visitors were welcomed from June 17, 2026. Check that year's notice for the actual opening and closing dates and whether rafting is operating on your visit day.
Ticket check-in usually closes at around 11:30. Online tickets are listed at about CNY 130–160 per person and usually need to be bought one day in advance; the relevant ticket option includes insurance and the shuttle. On-site tickets may cost more or sell out. Each raft holds about 8–10 people; if your party is smaller, you may be paired with other visitors. Check the inclusions shown on your ticket when buying.

Choose your visit
A one-way river with alternating rapids and calm stretches
The 12.8-km route features more than 20 sections of rapids and calmer water, passing wooded riverbanks and rocky canyon scenery. There is one rafting route, with no separate short route or night rafting option.
Visitors often splash one another in the calmer sections, making this the main interactive part of the trip. There are riverside stalls along the route. Whether rafts can stop to buy supplies depends on that day's rafting operation and permitted stopping points. Hold the safety rope in the raft and follow staff instructions through the rapids.
Who should go
This activity may suit adults who enjoy water activities and can handle spending a long time wet and moving through rapids, as well as groups travelling together. Children under 1.2 m, visitors aged 65 and over, and people with cardiovascular or cerebrovascular conditions are advised not to participate. If travelling with children, confirm the day's admission requirements with the scenic area.
Protect phones and cameras in waterproof bags; ordinary cameras are best left on shore. There is a scenic-area photo point before the finish where you can check photos after rafting.
For a separate canyon walk and ride visit in Qingyuan, see Yulongxi Grand Canyon Scenic Area.
Build your day
From parking to the launch dock
Drivers should go to the parking and ticket-check area specified in their ticket information, then take the scenic area shuttle to the actual launch dock. The rafting route runs one way for 12.8 km and takes about 2.5–3 hours on the water; allow additional time for the entry shuttle and queues.
After rafting: showers and the return shuttle
At the finish, you can shower and change in the service area, then take the return shuttle arranged by the scenic area back to the original parking area to retrieve your car. The shower area and shuttle may have queues on weekends, so allow at least half a day for the full visit.
Get there
Driving and parking
Navigate to “Honghe Valley Rafting Ticket Office” (红河谷漂流售票处). Follow the directions for the ticket option you purchased and the scenic area's traffic instructions to enter the designated parking area, then pass the ticket check and transfer to the shuttle. Parking is listed at about CNY 10 per car. Parking Lot No. 2 can be used as a reference point, but use whichever parking area is open that day.
The address is Sanshidaohe Village (三十道河村), Dasuhe Township, Qingyuan Manchu Autonomous County, Fushun. You do not need to drive to the finish; follow the scenic area's return-shuttle arrangement back to the original parking area.
Coaches from nearby cities
Tourist coaches or long-distance buses run from nearby cities such as Shenyang toward the scenic area. Before setting out, confirm the actual boarding point, operating dates and return service. Showering at the finish and waiting for the shuttle can affect your return time.
Know before you go
Queues and participation requirements
Crowds and queues can be heavy on weekends and public holidays, sometimes lasting several hours; weekdays are usually quieter. If visiting on a weekend, try to arrive before 10:00. Ticket check-in closes at around 11:30, and a late arrival may miss rafting that day.
Children under 1.2 m, visitors aged 65 and over, and people with cardiovascular or cerebrovascular conditions are advised not to participate. In rapids, follow staff instructions and hold the safety rope. Do not leave the raft in the river without permission.
Getting wet, storage and showers
You may get wet throughout the trip. Protect your phone, camera and documents in a tested waterproof bag. Bring a change of clothes, a towel and toiletries; the finish-area showers can be crowded, lockers are limited, and toiletries are not provided on site.
Riverside stalls serve visitors along the route, but stopping to buy something depends on the day's rafting operation and on-site instructions. Protect electronic devices from water or leave them on shore.
