An ancestral tomb complex from the early Qing period
Qing Yongling is at the foot of Qiyun Mountain in Yongling Town, Xinbin Manchu Autonomous County. It is the burial site of four generations of Nurhaci's paternal ancestors. The Four Ancestors' Stele Pavilions (四祖碑亭), which house commemorative stone inscriptions, correspond to those ancestors. The tomb is part of the UNESCO World Heritage property “Imperial Tombs of the Ming and Qing Dynasties” and was added to its extended listing in 2004 as one of Liaoning's Three Imperial Tombs Beyond the Pass. Focus on the tomb layout, stele pavilions, wooden palisade gates and ritual buildings.
Qing Yongling and nearby Hetu Ala City are two separate historic attractions, each with its own entrance and ticket. Qing Yongling holds the remains of Nurhaci's ancestors; Nurhaci himself is buried at Fuling. If visiting both in one day, check opening hours and tickets for each separately.
Allow one to two hours
There are two useful visit paces: about 40–60 minutes for the main buildings, or 1.5–2 hours to look more closely at the pavilions, halls and any open exhibition rooms. Ctrip currently lists peak-season hours of 08:00–16:30, with last entry at 16:00, and off-season hours of 08:00–16:00, with last entry at 15:45. Check the day's notice and allow time for walking and the return trip.

Choose your visit
Architecture: follow the tomb's central axis
From the Red Gate, continue to the Four Ancestors' Stele Pavilions, Qiyun Gate and Qiyun Hall, then view the outer area of the Baocheng (宝城), the walled burial enclosure behind the main ritual buildings. The Five-Color Cloud Dragon Wall is near Qiyun Gate and can be seen together with the gate, hall and stele pavilions. Follow the day's notices for areas open to visitors.
The tomb complex retains the early Manchu feature of wooden palisade gates and also follows the traditional imperial-tomb layout of a front hall and rear burial area. Compare how the gates, pavilions and halls are arranged; use the on-site signs for information about the heritage structures.
Guided tour: confirm the fee and coverage
A guide can explain the four-ancestor lineage, ritual system and tomb layout. Ask at the entrance whether an in-person guide is available that day. The reference fee is about CNY 50; confirm whether it is charged per person or group, how long the tour lasts and what it covers before paying.
If related exhibition rooms are open, confirm their location, admission area and whether they require a separate ticket. The tomb ticket may not include exhibition rooms; follow that day's ticket information.
Visit with Hetu Ala City: plan each separately
Hetu Ala City is about 5 km from Qing Yongling; about 10 minutes by car is a reference estimate. The two sites sell separate tickets. Choose the order based on opening hours and the performance schedule at Hetu Ala City, and allow for parking and road conditions.
If you also want to see a performance at Hetu Ala City, first check whether it is taking place and the last-entry times at both sites, then plan the order. Avoid arriving at Qing Yongling close to last entry.
Build your day
Quick route: main buildings and back to the entrance
Enter through the main entrance and pass the Red Gate to see the Four Ancestors' Stele Pavilions, then continue to Qiyun Gate and Qiyun Hall. Finish with the open areas around Baocheng. A quick visit takes about 40–60 minutes; follow the open path back to the entrance.
Detailed route: allow time for inscriptions and exhibition rooms
If you want to read the inscriptions, look closely at the architecture or join a guided tour, allow about 1.5–2 hours. Follow this order: Red Gate → Four Ancestors' Stele Pavilions → Qiyun Gate → Qiyun Hall and the Cloud Dragon Wall → outer area of Baocheng, then return on the open route. If related exhibition rooms are open, confirm their location and separate-ticket rules before adding them to the route.
Get there
Drive to the entrance in Yongling Town
Search for “Qing Yongling” or “Qiyun Mountain, Yongling Town, Xinbin Manchu Autonomous County.” Parking in front of the tomb complex is listed at about CNY 10 per day; follow on-site signs for the actual parking area and fee. The car park is near the entrance, and the walking route begins at the Red Gate.
Confirm the transfer from the high-speed rail station
The Shenyang–Baishan high-speed railway includes Xinbin Station and opened in 2025. From Xinbin Station, arrange a taxi or pre-booked transfer to Yongling Town. If using a local bus, confirm the boarding point, departure, travel time and last service before setting out, and plan the return as well.
Transfer from Hetu Ala City
The two attractions have separate entrances, ticketing and routes. Hetu Ala City is about 5 km from Qing Yongling and can be reached by car. Check the day's road conditions, buy separate tickets and visit according to each site's own hours.

Ticket price and exhibition-room admission
The reference adult ticket price for Qing Yongling is about CNY 50. Some dates or promotions may offer a discounted ticket at about CNY 25. Check the applicable date and ID requirements when buying. If an exhibition room requires a separate ticket, confirm it separately.
Paths, photography and visiting etiquette
The main route requires walking, and some sections have stone paving, steps or interior passages. Visitors with limited mobility can ask staff at the entrance about the route and assistance available that day. Follow on-site photography, touching and quiet-visit rules in the stele pavilions, halls and exhibition rooms. Do not cross barriers or enter closed areas.
This is a ritual and burial site; follow heritage-protection rules. Nearby restaurants and the farmers' market are separate stops. Confirm their exact addresses and opening status before going, and allow time for the transfer.
