How to Visit

Use Guomang Wetland as a short stop during a self-drive day
On a driving day between Luqu and Langmusi, stop only in a permitted roadside or parking area. Bring drinking water, snacks, and a warm layer from the county town or your accommodation, and allow 45 to 90 minutes on site.
Tip:This is best added along the route, rather than allowed to disrupt the day's driving plan and supply stops.

Walk slowly along the boardwalk to the viewing area
Enter from the parking area following on-site guidance, then use the gentle boardwalk to view the wetland channels, meadows, and distant hills. If the altitude is already affecting you, take photographs from the first section and turn back.
Tip:At this elevation, a short and slow walk is more suitable than forcing a full route, and the boardwalk protects fragile wetland vegetation.

Photograph from a distance and continue your journey
Use the viewpoint to photograph the winding water, grassland, livestock, and any birds you may see, without approaching herds, marmots, or waterfowl. Return to the car and assess weather, fuel, and daylight before continuing the longer drive.
Tip:Wild animals and grazing herds need space, and approaching, feeding, or chasing them can disturb them and take you away from safe routes.
