Choose Your Route at the South Gate
At the South Gate (南门), decide your route: take the cable car up (25 yuan) for the easy route, or start hiking from Lianquan Gate (濂泉门) for the fitness challenge route.
Tip:Cable car queue can exceed 1 hour on weekends/holidays — arrive early or hike

Take the Cable Car to the Summit (Lazy Route)
Board the cable car (¥25 up / ¥20 down) from South Gate station. Get off at Mountain Top Square (山顶广场) and walk or take the elevator to Moxing Ridge (摩星岭) for panoramic views of Guangzhou CBD.
Tip:This is the recommended route for families and those with limited mobility

Hike the 1,836 Steps (Fitness Route)
Enter via Lianquan Gate (濂泉门) and challenge the '千尺嶝' — 1,836 steps climbing straight to Moxing Ridge. This is a serious workout;膝盖 and fitness level should be considered.
Tip:Very steep; not recommended for beginners or those with knee issues

Explore the West Gate Panorama Route
Enter via West Gate (西门) and pass through Peach Blossom Gully (桃花涧), Huangpo Reservoir (黄婆洞水库), and Pearl Pavilion (明珠楼) before reaching Moxing Ridge. 6-7 hours total. Best for nature lovers.
Tip:Combines lake views, forest, and human landscape in one route

Enjoy the Night View
Take the afternoon cable car up and stay until evening. The night view from Moxing Ridge overlooking Guangzhou Tower and the CBD skyline is spectacular. Mountain Top Square is open 24 hours.
Tip:Cable car closes at 18:00 — hike down after dark if staying for night views
