How to Visit
1

Book via Official WeChat Account

Pre-book your ticket through the '广东民间工艺博物馆' (Guangdong Folk Art Museum) official WeChat account. Bring your ID — tickets are tied to your identity document.

Online tickets often sell out on weekends; book at least 1 day ahead
2

Enter via the Main Gate

Present your pre-booked ticket and ID at the entrance. Start at the 首进正厅 (Main Hall) where the exquisite wooden screen carvings depict historical stories and auspicious symbols.

The stone moon platform (石雕月台) with carved lions and drums guards the main gate
3

Join the Free Guided Tour

Sign up for the free guided tour at 10:00 AM or 4:00 PM at the 聚贤堂. The 27-meter Baroque-style iron railings and 11 colorful ceramic roof ridges are best explained by a guide.

Limited spots — arrive 10 minutes early to secure a place
4

Photograph the Manchu Windows

In the evening, sunlight filtering through the Manchu-style glass windows (满洲窗) creates stunning colorful light patterns — one of the most photogenic spots in the hall.

Arrive in late afternoon for the best window light effect
5

Explore the Back Garden

End your visit in the 后花园 — a peaceful traditional garden with pavilions and water features, perfect for a quiet moment after the busy main halls.

Highlights
  • Juxian Hall (聚贤堂) — the heart of the complex with 27m Baroque-style iron railings
  • 11 ceramic roof ridges totaling 160m+ — colorful figures from Chinese classics like Romance of the Three Kingdoms
  • Four wooden screen doors at main entrance and twelve in Juxian Hall
  • Manchu windows that create stunning colored light patterns in late afternoon
