A one-way loop and the scenic-area boundaries
Qibugou Scenic Area is at No. 1 Qibugou, Huoshui Township, Wu'an. The ticket gate is at the entrance at the foot of the mountain. The visit follows a one-way loop; the exit is on the other side near the parking lot. Follow the signed route through the area and leave from the exit at the end.
Tianjing Lake, Hundred Waterfalls Gorge, Luohan Gorge, Baiyun Chan Temple, the summit viewpoint, and the glass walkway are all within the same scenic area. Monet Garden near the entrance and Rose Valley near the gorge exit are also landscaped areas inside the loop; no separate transfer is needed.
Tickets, opening hours, and visit length
In peak season (April–October), the listed ticket price is about CNY 80 at the gate and CNY 65–70 online. Students and visitors aged 60–69 with ID receive half-price admission, about CNY 40. Visitors aged 70 and above and children under 1.2 m enter free. No special reservation is required; buy online or at the entrance.
The scenic area generally opens at 08:00, and entry stops after 16:00. Closing time varies with that day’s operations. Allow about 2–3 hours for the easier route or 4–5 hours for the gorge and mountain highlights route.

Choose your visit
Tianjing Lake, waterfalls, and gorges
Tianjing Lake reflects the mountains; the water is usually calmer from 09:00 to 11:00. Hundred Waterfalls Gorge has streams and tiered falls, with greater water flow in summer. Luohan Gorge has unusual rock formations, and Baiyun Chan Temple is a stop along the gorge.
After rain or early in the morning, the summit viewpoint may offer a sea of clouds. Hundred Waterfalls Gorge has shaded sections, and rainbows may appear near the falls on sunny days. Access to water areas depends on that day’s water conditions and on-site management.
Flower displays and mountain activities
The entrance area has landscaped flower displays such as Monet Garden; Rose Valley is near the gorge exit. These photo installations and the natural gorge scenery are both part of the loop. The sightseeing bus, Flying Carpet ride, and mountain slide can reduce some walking; check which attractions are operating that day.
Families and visitors looking for an easier outing can choose the shorter route. Seeing Hundred Waterfalls Gorge and the summit viewpoint involves a longer uphill walk. The full hike is about 15,000 steps; the easier route involves much less walking.
Build your day
A 2–3-hour easier loop
After entering at the foot of the mountain, walk through Monet Garden and other flower displays, then take the sightseeing bus to the Tianjing Lake or Luohan Cave area. Walk downhill afterward, passing the landscaped displays near the gorge exit, and leave from the exit on the parking-lot side. Allow about 2–3 hours; this route avoids most strenuous climbing.
This route focuses on the lake and landscaped garden areas; Hundred Waterfalls Gorge and the summit viewpoint are not required stops. The exit is on the other side of the loop, so follow the signs through to the end rather than returning the way you came.
A 4–5-hour gorge highlights route
From the entrance, take the sightseeing bus to Tianjing Lake. Visit Hundred Waterfalls Gorge, then walk uphill or ride the Flying Carpet to the summit viewpoint and glass walkway. Descend on the mountain slide, then follow the loop to the exit. Allow about 4–5 hours for the combination of gorge scenery, summit views, and rides.
The mountain slide may be replaced by a sightseeing bus at short notice; check the day’s operation before buying. The full route involves about 15,000 steps and uphill walking, considerably more than the 2–3-hour easier route.
Get there
Driving and public transport
Driving from Handan takes about 1.5–2 hours. Navigate to “Qibugou Scenic Area”; parking costs about CNY 10 per day. Mountain roads can be busy on holidays, so aim to arrive before 08:00.
By public transport, first travel from Handan Bus Terminal to Wu'an Bus Station, then transfer to the rural bus toward Qibugou. The trip takes about three hours and buses are infrequent, so it is not a good option for a tight schedule.
The loop exit and parking lot
The entrance and ticket gate are at the foot of the mountain. The exit is on the other side of the one-way loop, close to the parking lot. Follow the one-way signs from the start and leave through the parking-lot-side exit.
Know before you go
Hours, queues, and water access
Holiday crowds can be heavy; arriving early can reduce waits on the mountain road and for the sightseeing bus. Check on-site notices and the last-service times for each ride. Water flow in the gorge is higher in summer; if the stream rises or an area is closed, do not step into the water, and stay within the areas open that day.
The glass walkway and mountain slide depend on weather and operating conditions. If the slide is replaced by a sightseeing bus, the descent and return experience will change. Mist can reduce visibility from the summit, so visit the walkway and viewpoint when conditions are clearer.
Supplies and other stops around Wu'an
There are no supply points on the mountain trails or summit, and dining options inside the scenic area are limited. Bring enough drinking water and sealed snacks. Guesthouses and farm stays in Huoshui Township serve local food such as Wu'an hand-pulled noodles; the Dasheng Food Court below the mountain has simple meals.
Jingniang Lake and East Taihang are also in the Wu'an area, but each is a separate scenic area with its own ticket and route. If visiting more than one, allow separate time for the mountain-road transfers and each visit; neither is part of the Qibugou loop.
