Separate the winter outdoor park from the indoor ice hall
Harbin Ice and Snow World offers two distinctly different visits. The giant ice structures, 521-metre Super Slide and Snowflake Ferris Wheel belong to the winter outdoor park. The Dream Ice and Snow Hall is a year-round, temperature-controlled indoor ice space, so its opening dates and operating rules should be planned separately.
The winter outdoor park is at 1458 Taiyang Avenue in Songbei District, on the west side of Sun Island in the Songhua River. The exact opening date, ticket prices and attraction rules for the 2026–27 winter outdoor park have not yet been released; check the official information for that season.
Tickets and how much time to allow
The Dream Ice and Snow Hall is open year-round, with an indoor temperature of about –8 to –15°C. Adult tickets are currently around CNY 268 and include rental of a down jacket and cotton shoes. If the rented items are not in good condition, bring thick socks, gloves and a hat. Ticket prices and rules for popular attractions in the winter outdoor park depend on that season's arrangements.
The outdoor park takes about 3–4 hours for a quick route and at least 5 hours for a highlights visit. Include queueing, reservations, warm-up breaks and rapid battery drain in cold weather when planning the day. The indoor hall works better as a separate indoor outing rather than an automatic extension of the outdoor visit.

Winter outdoor park: ice architecture with rides
The outdoor park suits first-time visitors who want ice buildings and large winter attractions in one stop. The main castle is the central architectural sight: in daylight you can see the clarity and texture of the ice, while after the lights come on it becomes a nightscape and light-show setting.
The 521-metre Super Slide, Snowflake Ferris Wheel and Car Ballet Show are representative attractions, but their operation, reservation rules and exact seasonal configuration must be checked after entry. Snow-tube drifting, smaller slides and ice-play areas can be alternatives while popular attractions are busy, subject to same-day opening.
See the park from above, on the ice and under the lights
The Snowflake Ferris Wheel is useful for a panoramic view. The front of the main castle works for low-angle photographs, while the side reveals the layers of the ice structures. The artificial-snow area near the Ferris Wheel and the decorative ice arches are suitable for portraits and environmental shots.
Dream Ice and Snow Hall: a controlled indoor experience
The indoor hall suits visitors who want to avoid wind and snow, have only half a day, or need a weather-proof alternative. The temperature stays around –8 to –15°C, so even with rented clothing you should keep your socks, gloves and hat dry and warm.

3–4-hour outdoor-park route
After entering, check how reservations work that day for popular attractions. Try the 521-metre Super Slide first, then fit in the Snowflake Ferris Wheel according to the queue. Once the high-demand attractions are done, walk through the main castle and key ice-sculpture areas; if the Car Ballet Show is running, adjust the order around its time.
There is a lot of ice underfoot, and both queues and walking consume energy. Use Snow-tube Drifting, the smaller slide or the ice-play area during waiting periods, and take warm-up breaks with hot drinks and high-energy food. Leave time to walk out of the park and back to the metro station or parking area.
5-hour-plus highlights route
Enter during the day to photograph the main castle, ice arches and Snowflake Ferris Wheel, then use the reservation result to decide when to take the Super Slide or another open attraction. Return to the main viewing area at around 16:00 to record the transition from daylight to sunset, illumination and night scenery.
At night, check the Dream Stage for the day's activities. Mass events, car shows and other programmes are not fixed must-see items. If wind, temperature or your energy level make a long stay uncomfortable, finish the reserved attractions and main ice areas first, then leave the outdoor park.
Connect the indoor hall with the outdoor park
In the Dream Ice and Snow Hall, follow the indoor route through the main ice spaces before using the indoor rest area to reorganize your equipment and clothing. The controlled indoor environment differs from outdoor wind and snow, so put your full windproof outer layer back on before leaving the hall.
Get there
Metro to the outdoor park
Take Metro Line 2 to Ice and Snow World Station and use Exit 3. The park is about a three-minute walk away. When winter crowds are heavy, the metro avoids the pressure on surface parking around the park.
Driving and parking
Navigate to the park parking area; B4 is one commonly used parking area, with parking around CNY 15 per day. Arrive early in the busy season. You still need to walk from the parking area to the entrance, so plan around the time needed to reach the gate in cold weather.
Know before you go
Cold, slippery surfaces and electronic devices
The outdoor park may experience extreme cold of around –30°C. A windproof face covering, an ear-covering hat, waterproof thick gloves and shoes with good grip are useful. There are many icy surfaces; simple ice cleats can help, but slow down on slopes, in queues and near warm-up-room doors.
Do not place a hand warmer directly on your skin or use unsafe methods to heat a phone or camera. Phones and cameras lose power quickly in low temperatures. Keep them close to your body between shots and operate them again inside a warm-up room.
Winter attractions and reservation reminders
Whether popular outdoor attractions support on-site QR-code reservations, release tickets at set times after opening, or provide park Wi-Fi depends on the official information and on-site arrangements for that season. After entry, check the day's notices and attraction status before deciding how to queue or reserve.
