Jinshangjing Huiningfu Ruins are in Acheng District of Harbin. Visits usually start at Jinshangjing History Museum, followed by the Huiningfu imperial-city ruins and stone markers related to the Mausoleum of Jin Taizu in the fields. The museum has a building, cases and guided services; the ruins have no obvious gate and rely on navigation to find the markers, so the two spaces require different types of visit.
Jinshangjing History Museum is free, requires no reservation and uses QR-code registration at the entrance. Current listed hours are Tuesday–Sunday 09:00–16:30, with entry stopping at 16:00, and Monday closure except statutory holidays. The ruins and Jin Taizu-related areas are free and accessible all day, but field roads, marker positions and seasonal access may vary by day.
A remote day trip where driving is the flexible option
Driving from central Harbin via the Ha'a Expressway takes about one hour and gives the most flexibility. Public transport can connect from the city to Ha'a Highway Bus Terminal or Hadong Station, then to Acheng. You can also take a train from Harbin or Harbin West Station to Acheng Station, or from Harbin North Station to Acheng North Station and continue by taxi.
A quick route takes about 2–3 hours and focuses on the museum with time to look for the field markers. A full route takes about 3.5–5 hours: walk the fields for about 1–1.5 hours, then spend 2–3 hours in the museum. Add the road and transfer time between the two sections.

Jinshangjing History Museum
The museum is the main indoor place to understand Huiningfu, the first capital of the Jin dynasty, and Jin history. It includes the “Bronze Seated Dragon,” Jin-dynasty objects and historical material. The building's strong lines also suit visitors who want background before going into the field.
Imperial-city ruins, palace site and stone markers
The field section is mainly about stone markers for the “Jinshangjing Huiningfu Imperial City Ruins” and “Palace Site,” set among farmland, rough grass and open sky. Almost no complete palace buildings remain. It suits visitors interested in Liao-Jin history, archaeology and less-visited field routes.
There is no clear continuous visitor path. Navigation and identifying the site are part of the visit. Photograph markers from roads and permitted ground; do not step into farmland, cross fences or enter closed areas for a closer angle.
Mausoleum of Jin Taizu and nearby history
The Mausoleum of Jin Taizu is beside the museum, but the related underground palace is under maintenance and offers limited viewing. Baosheng Temple is relatively close to the museum, while Acheng Catholic Church is within a residential area; add them separately if time and transport allow.

2–3-hour museum highlights route
Go directly to Jinshangjing History Museum, register by QR code and spend 2–3 hours on the Bronze Seated Dragon, Jin objects, historical material and building. Use the remaining time to decide whether to drive or take a taxi to the imperial-city and palace-site markers; when time is tight, keep the museum as the main stop.
Museum entry stops at 16:00. Late-afternoon visitors should enter the indoor museum first and then decide whether to go into the fields. Because the ruins have no obvious entrance or continuous path, do not compress both the museum and marker route as closing approaches.
3.5–5-hour field-and-museum route
Use navigation to find the imperial-city and palace-site markers first, allowing about 1–1.5 hours in the fields. Return to Jinshangjing History Museum for 2–3 hours of exhibitions. Drivers should note the car position, field roads and museum parking direction separately.
Field surfaces may be dirt roads, rough grass and farmland edges, becoming harder after rain or snow. Confirm marker positions, signs and access on the day. If you cannot find one marker, return to the museum rather than entering farmland or a closed area.
Museum, Mausoleum of Jin Taizu and Baosheng Temple
The Jin Taizu-related area beside the museum can be a nearby stop, but do not plan a deeper visit while the underground palace is under maintenance. Add Baosheng Temple or Acheng Catholic Church only if there is time. Confirm each site's opening and walking or taxi distance separately instead of shortening the museum to complete every nearby point.

Driving
Drive from central Harbin via the Ha'a Expressway for about one hour and navigate first to Jinshangjing History Museum. It is the clearest starting point; complete registration and the exhibits before navigating to the field markers. Do not drive into farmland or a closed dirt-road section.
Train or high-speed rail plus taxi
From Harbin or Harbin West Station, take a train to Acheng Station. From Harbin North Station, take high-speed rail to Acheng North Station, then take a taxi to the museum. Station-to-museum distance, return cars and waiting times need same-day planning.
Metro and bus transfer
From central Harbin, use the metro to Ha'a Highway Bus Terminal or Hadong Station, then change to a bus towards Acheng. There is still distance from the transfer point to the museum, field markers and return station, so public transport is less flexible than driving.

Food options around the museum and fields are limited; eat in Acheng if needed. Pujia Cold Noodles, Chen Laoda Cold Drinks and Dafu Ding Bakery are possible choices according to the day's hours. Driving, taxi returns from the stations and buses take different amounts of time, so confirm the next connection before leaving the fields.
