Plan at a glance

Underwater World and Beach Water World sell separate tickets

Poseidon is at 153 Huijiang Road in Hulan District and includes Underwater World and Beach Water World. The two parks operate separately, with different entrances and car parks, and are some distance apart. Their tickets are not interchangeable. If you are visiting the aquarium, do not build the route around the water park's night session, pools or rides.

Adult Underwater World tickets are currently around CNY 199, student tickets around CNY 99–150 and child/senior tickets around CNY 140. Buying online one day ahead is advisable. Underwater World usually operates 09:00–16:30, with entry stopping after 15:30. Beach Water World may have a summer night session extending to around 20:30; dates and hours depend on the season.

A remote day trip and the return

Driving from the city takes about 40 minutes. Parking is currently listed at CNY 10 per day with relatively ample spaces; a one-way taxi costs around CNY 40–80. By public transport, take Metro Line 2 to Shimao Boulevard Station, then a taxi for about CNY 25–30 or a park shuttle. The return shuttle to Shimao Boulevard Station costs around CNY 5 per person.

Choose your visit

Ocean Realm Hall, Mermaid Bay and the underwater tunnel

Ocean Realm Hall has a 270-degree wraparound screen and fishbone tunnel, a useful first orientation to the aquarium. Mermaid Bay has a screen about 18 metres high. The underwater tunnel lets you view fish and turtles from below; it is dark, so do not use lighting that disturbs other visitors.

Dolphin Arena, Walrus Sanctuary and the show choice

The Dolphin Arena is a circular theatre. Walrus Sanctuary and other halls can be visited according to the day's route. Mermaid, dolphin, Ocean Circus and Deep Sea Adventure sessions may change. Use the programme to arrange the day; animal health, training and venue operations affect whether an animal appears.

Beach Water World: a separate day card

Beach Water World suits summer families and visitors focused on water activities, with indoor and outdoor facilities and possible summer night sessions. It has separate tickets, entrances and parking from Underwater World. Do not apply the water park's prices, opening and ride information to the aquarium.

Build your day

3–4-hour Underwater World route

Check the day's programme after entering and go first to Ocean Realm Hall, then fit in mermaid or dolphin-related shows by their sessions. Continue to Mermaid Bay, the Fantasy Jellyfish Area and the panoramic underwater tunnel, and finish through Walrus Sanctuary and the exit route.

Arrive 20–30 minutes early for popular shows. If seats are full, move to an exhibit, wait for the next session or skip it. Keep the short route to the underwater spaces and one or two shows you most want to see rather than rushing between theatres.

4–5-hour Underwater World highlights route

Follow Ocean Realm Hall → Mermaid Bay → Dolphin Arena → Walrus Sanctuary, adding the underwater tunnel, Fantasy Jellyfish Area and shows open that day. Take one break for water and rest during the indoor route so families can finish the main halls.

The outdoor Grand Parade, Ocean Circus and Deep Sea Adventure may have separate times; choose one or two from the programme. If an animal display, theatre or hall changes, continue through the other open areas along the indoor route.

Keep Underwater World and Water World separate

If visiting both parks on the same day, check each entrance, ticket, opening window and transfer distance. Add the second park only when the transfer time is sufficient. Underwater World stops entry after 15:30, while a Water World summer night session around 20:30 does not mean one ticket allows continuous entry to both.

Get there

Driving

Drive from central Harbin for about 40 minutes. Navigate to the correct entrance and parking area for Underwater World or Beach Water World. Parking is currently listed at CNY 10 per day with relatively ample spaces; keep the two parking points and departure directions separate.

Metro and transfer

Take Metro Line 2 to Shimao Boulevard Station, then take a taxi for about CNY 25–30 or the park shuttle. The return shuttle to Shimao Boulevard Station costs around CNY 5 per person; departures and boarding points may vary by day.

Taxi and return

A one-way taxi from the city currently costs around CNY 40–80. Because the site is remote, ride-hailing may be difficult in the evening. Check the shuttle return time after entering or arrange a ride in advance. Leave Underwater World and Beach Water World via their respective parking areas and exits.

Know before you go

Tickets, opening and shows

Underwater World adult tickets are currently around CNY 199, student tickets around CNY 99–150 and child/senior tickets around CNY 140. Underwater World usually operates 09:00–16:30, with entry stopping after 15:30. Water World tickets are separate; its summer night session may extend to around 20:30. Final prices, dates and activities depend on the season.

Check the day's programme for mermaid, dolphin and sea-lion or walrus shows, arriving 20–30 minutes early for popular sessions. If an animal does not appear or an activity changes, move to the underwater tunnel, jellyfish area or other exhibits. Do not tap the glass or ask animals to repeat interactions.

Animal observation and water safety

Do not feed or touch animals, tap glass, cross barriers or put any part of your body into a display area. Children should stay with an adult. Switch off flash and keep viewing areas and passages clear; animal shows are not a required part of the visit.

Visitors with sensitive skin, allergies or other physical discomfort should choose water rides carefully and stop immediately if they feel unwell, asking staff for help. Select each ride according to age, height, health and staff requirements. Allow separate time for changing, storage and showers.

Food and the return

Food inside the parks can be relatively expensive with limited choice. Bring a small snack and drinking water if permitted by the entry rules. Both Underwater World and Water World are remote destinations, so do not rely on finding many restaurants at the last minute; settle the return vehicle by the later part of the visit.
