A small independent historic-building complex inside Sun Island
Russian Style Town is at 10 Fengjing Street on Sun Island in Songbei District. It contains 27 villas and homes associated with Russian expatriate communities. It is inside Sun Island Scenic Area but has its own entrance and ticket; after entering the main park, follow the signs to find the town entrance.
The town suits visitors interested in buildings from the Chinese Eastern Railway era, old-house interiors and vintage photography. The core area is compact: allow about 1–1.5 hours for a quick visit and about 2 hours to examine the houses and interactive spaces carefully. It is one section of a Sun Island day, not a large theme park.
Tickets, hours and arrival
Tickets are currently around CNY 38–68 and may change; no reservation is usually required, with tickets generally bought on site. Current opening hours are 08:30–17:00, with entry stopping at 17:00. After buying a ticket, you may receive a passport-style souvenir card to stamp at different houses; whether every stamping point is available may vary by day.
Walking from Sun Island Station to the town entrance takes about 10–15 minutes. A public ferry from the pier beside the Flood Control Monument costs around CNY 2; after arriving, walk about 800 metres. From Jiuzhan, the Songhua River Cableway reaches Sun Island, with a one-way ticket around CNY 60. Cableway and town tickets are separate.

Century-old wooden houses and old windows
The appeal is in the unpolished woodwork, carved railings, old doors and windows and wooden floors. Signs of use matter more here than the uniform styling of a recreated old street. Take time to look at the walls, room proportions and domestic layout.
The 1950 Soviet Home and the “Bainian Shiguang” Clock House (百年时光钟表屋)
The “1950 Soviet Home” focuses on reconstructed domestic scenes, with furniture, room arrangements and period atmosphere. The “Bainian Shiguang” Clock House (百年时光钟表屋) is another representative building. Put both in the first half of a short route: see the interiors first, then photograph the exteriors.
The Bread Workshop, Chocolate Workshop, kvass and painted-matryoshka experiences can be additions. Workshops, performances and hands-on activities change; include them only when they are open that day.
What to photograph
Red walls, green windows, wooden façades and flowers work well for architecture-and-portrait photographs. On a sunny afternoon from 15:00 to 17:00, light through the curtains can create layered shadows on the wooden floors. Vintage or light-coloured clothing fits the setting, but keep narrow passages clear while photographing.
Build your day
1–1.5-hour quick route
Buy a ticket at the independent entrance, visit the “1950 Soviet Home” first, then the “Bainian Shiguang” Clock House (百年时光钟表屋). Look at the wooden exteriors and stamping points along the way, take photographs at the main buildings and leave. This route prioritizes architecture and interiors rather than every temporary activity.
If you will continue around Sun Island, follow the signs from the town exit back to the main park path. If you plan to leave the island, check the directions to Gate 1, Gate 3 or the ferry pier in advance. A short walk inside the town does not mean the walk to leave Sun Island will also be short.
About 2-hour full town route
Start with the main exteriors, then enter the houses one by one to read the displays. Follow the order “1950 Soviet Home” → “Bainian Shiguang” Clock House (百年时光钟表屋) → other Russian expatriate residences. If the Bread Workshop or painted-matryoshka activity is open, add it after the buildings.
On a sunny afternoon, 15:00–17:00 works for photographing both indoor light and outdoor architecture, but entry stops at 17:00, so finish before then. If you want to see sunset on Sun Island, include the time to leave the town and walk back to the transport point.
Connect with the main Sun Island park
From the town, take the Sun Island sightseeing bus to other areas or walk towards Gate 3. Bus stops, queues and service follow the on-site arrangement. If you need the cableway or ferry for the return, check last-service or suspension changes before entering the town.
Get there
Metro and walking
Take Metro Line 2 to Sun Island Station and use Exit 3, then walk about 10–15 minutes to the town entrance. Navigate to the “Russian Style Town” entrance; using only Sun Island Gate 1 will leave you looking for the town again after entering the park.
Ferry across the river
Take a ferry from the pier beside the Flood Control Monument at the north end of Central Street. The public ferry costs around CNY 2; after reaching Sun Island, walk about 800 metres to the town. Routes depend on weather and water level, so confirm whether service is running that day. Ask separately about public and sightseeing ferry prices and routes.
Cableway to and from the island
The Songhua River Cableway from Jiuzhan reaches Sun Island, with a one-way ticket around CNY 60. After arriving, follow the park signs and continue on foot to the town. If you take the cableway in and leave by metro or ferry, arrange each ticket, queue and station separately.

Scale, prices and activities
The town is compact, with most of its content concentrated in 27 buildings and a small number of interactive houses. Set expectations around the actual 1–2 hours of content. Tickets are currently around CNY 38–68; souvenirs, handicrafts and food cost extra, and whether stamping is included depends on the day's ticket and instructions.
Bread-making, Russian performances and painted-matryoshka activities may pause. Do not reserve an entire day around one activity. Wooden floors, steps and narrow rooms require slow walking; do not block entrances while taking photos.
Transport inside Sun Island and seasonal changes
Winter and summer road conditions, sightseeing buses, animal interactions and park activities all change by season. Watch for ice and river wind in winter; summer afternoons can be hot, and supply points inside the park are limited, so bring drinking water and a small snack.
The town ticket does not cover Sun Island's other paid attractions, ferries, the cableway or the sightseeing bus. Before leaving, confirm the 08:30–17:00 entry window, same-day ticket price, workshop or performance status, and the operating and return arrangements for your chosen transport.
