The “Hui Merchants” gallery on Floor 2 includes a full-scale reconstruction of a Huizhou-style commercial street, where the shopfronts and small details help bring the history of Hui merchants to life. The museum also uses lighting, 3D effects, and wax figures to recreate scenes such as “Laozi and Zhuangzi’s Daoist thought,” “the friendship of Guan Zhong and Bao Shuya,” and “Zhu Yuanzhang’s accession.” These displays suit visitors who enjoy following historical stories while looking at how the spaces are arranged.

Start with the highlights route through Floors 2 and 3, then return to the “Hui Merchants” gallery on Floor 2 to spend more time with the reconstructed Huizhou street and scenes such as the friendship of Guan Zhong and Bao Shuya. Finish with the science-and-education gallery on Floor 3. There is a lot to see, so give more time to the figures, themes, and scene displays that interest you most.
Visit pace and food inside the museum
The exhibition route is long, and a first visit is easier if you focus on the figures, periods, and scene displays that interest you most. Floor 2 has a simple meal counter called “Mingren Jiancan (名人简餐),” as well as specialty coffee, but the food selection is limited, so bring drinking water and simple snacks. After the visit, you can continue to the nearby Memorial Hall of the Crossing-the-Yangtze Campaign, Anhui Art Museum, or Anhui Science and Technology Museum.
