Sihui Tower, the opera stage, and the City God Hall
Sihui Tower (思惠楼) is one of the more noticeable buildings in the temple area, and you can view it from different angles along the surrounding commercial streets. Whether you can climb it depends on whether it is open that day. The opera stage’s wood carvings and painted decoration, the main City God Hall, and the red walls in the courtyard are the main architectural details to notice.
The Goddess Hall and temple courtyards
The Goddess Hall enshrines figures such as the Queen Mother of the West and Guanyin. The courtyards, gateways, and layout give a sense of the local religious space. When taking photos, avoid blocking worship or passageways; follow the signs and temple etiquette inside the halls and elsewhere. If there is a religious activity or ceremony that day, do not interfere with worship or movement while taking photos.

This route suits visitors with limited time who want a quick look at the temple’s main buildings.
A 1–2 hour full route
Add the Hall of Wealth, Jiazi Hall, and the surrounding Huizhou-style commercial streets to the core route. Then look at the exterior of Sihui Tower and find out whether climbing is available that day, before leaving through the North Gate or another open exit. Even if Sihui Tower is closed, you can still visit the opera stage, City God Hall, Goddess Hall, and other main buildings.
Linking it with an old-city walk
Luzhou Prefecture City God Temple can be combined with Huaihe Road Pedestrian Street and the Li Hongzhang Former Residence in one old-city walk; the former residence is about 5–10 minutes away on foot. Lei Street (罍街) is farther away and requires another metro ride or taxi, making it better suited to a later meal or evening stop.

Metro and bus
Take Metro Line 2 or Line 5 to Sanxiaokou Station, leave through Exit A or C, and walk about 5–10 minutes to the temple. Buses 114, 126, 127, and 133 stop at “City God Temple”; from there, follow the signs to the South or North Gate.
Driving and parking
If driving, navigate to a car park near Luzhou Prefecture City God Temple. Traffic, parking, and movement around the old city and pedestrian streets are more difficult on weekends and public holidays, so public transport is usually more convenient. Do not stop temporarily by the temple gates or on the pedestrian streets.

Luzhou Prefecture City God Temple does not require a reservation, and reference hours are 09:00–18:00 daily. Entry to the temple is free; if Sihui Tower is open for climbing that day, it may require a separate ticket of about CNY 5 per person.

The opera stage, red walls, gateways, and exterior of Sihui Tower are all worth observing and photographing. Inside the temple, follow the signs and temple etiquette, and do not interfere with worship, passageways, or other visitors. The complex is connected to a commercial street, so some areas may be busy; focus on the open historic buildings and courtyard details.
Snacks, spending, and nearby stops
Snack options in and around the temple include Yang Jianming shaobing (烧饼), Xiangyufang grilled meat, and Li Daye Baba (犁大爷粑粑). Check the seller and price before buying. Huaihe Road Pedestrian Street has a wider choice of restaurants, and the Li Hongzhang Former Residence is a convenient next stop on foot. The old city is crowded on weekends and public holidays, so allow separate transport time when heading to another part of Hefei.
