Plan at a glance
One park, two different experiences
The park is in Wuyi County, around Hegang Road and County Road 905. Its self-drive area and walking area are two parts of the same park. The reference adult admission price is CNY 30 per person, and the self-drive vehicle ticket is CNY 30 per car. The vehicle ticket does not cover passenger admission, so buy tickets for the car and its occupants separately. Tickets are available through the official mini program or at the entrance.
Opening hours and visit length
From May 1 through October 31, the summer schedule is 08:30–18:00, with ticket sales ending at 16:30. From November 1 through April 30, the winter schedule is 08:30–17:00, with ticket sales ending at 16:00. One loop through the self-drive area takes about 40–50 minutes. If you visit only that area, allow extra time for tickets, queues, entry and exit. If you also visit the walking area, plan for 4–6 hours in total.

Choose your visit
See animals by car, then continue on foot
Drive slowly along the park roads to see ostriches, alpacas, deer and zebras. For a fuller visit, park the car and enter the walking area to see the tiger area, bird park and giraffe area. The self-drive route suits visitors who want to limit the amount of walking.
A family visit depends on the day's program
Families often visit the giraffe area and tiger area in the walking zone, and may also watch a performance. Rental sightseeing carts are available in the walking area. Interact with animals only in places where the park allows it; check the day's notices for performances and feeding activities.
The giraffe feeding area and the glass passage by the tiger area are photo spots. Do not cross barriers or approach animals on your own for a better picture.
Build your day
Short route: drive the self-drive loop
Enter through the “Hengshui Wildlife Park Self-Drive Entrance” and follow the park's vehicle route at a slow speed while watching for animals. The loop takes about 40–50 minutes. You can then leave the park or park your car and continue into the walking area.
Longer route: self-drive area plus walking area
Allow 4–6 hours. After the park opens, start with the self-drive area. Complete the vehicle route, park the car, and then enter the walking area. Adjust lunch and the afternoon visit to the time you arrive. In the walking area, you can visit the tiger area, giraffe area and bird park. Rental sightseeing carts are available in the walking area; reference rates are CNY 50 per day for a small cart and CNY 90 per day for a larger cart. Check the rental point's posted prices and available models on the day. If you want to see a performance, plan your stops around that day's schedule.
Get there
Use the entrance that matches your visit
Drivers should navigate to “Hengshui Wildlife Park Self-Drive Entrance” (衡水野生动物园自驾入口); visitors on foot should use the park's main entrance. The address is on the east side of the road, about 1 km south of the junction of Hegang Road and County Road 905 in Wuyi County, Hengshui, Hebei. Parking is inside the park; the reference fee is CNY 10 per day.
Move between the two areas
Follow the vehicle route through the self-drive area. When you finish, park the car and walk into the walking area. The walking zone is large; visitors with children or older adults may find a rental sightseeing cart useful. Check the models and prices posted at the rental point on the day.
Know before you go
Queues and animal interactions
The self-drive route can become congested on public holidays, especially during the National Day and Dragon Boat Festival periods. For shorter queues, consider a weekday visit and aim to arrive at the 08:30 opening time. Do not open the car door, reach out of the vehicle or hand food to animals. Feed animals only where the park permits it, using approved food and following staff instructions.
Ticket concessions and activities
Check the official mini program or entrance notices for the current free- and half-price rules for children and older visitors. The reference half-price fare is CNY 15. Whether the circus, tiger cub interactions or predator-feeding activities are available depends on the day's notices.
Food and the return trip
Dining options inside the park are limited. Squirrel Restaurant is one option for a simple meal; you can also bring water and food. Across from the parking area, there are noodle shops serving banmian, noodles with gravy and iron-pot braised noodles. Chengnan kouwan (城南扣碗) is another local dining option in Wuyi. Hengshui Lake is elsewhere and is better planned as a separate day trip.
