Plan at a glance
Coastline and entrances
The bathing-beach area of Xingcheng Seaside Scenic Area extends for about 14 km and includes three main beaches: Xinghai Bay, Gangkou Bay and Bingjia Bay. Juhua Nü Square (菊花女广场) is near the central entrance, while Longhuitou (龙回头) is in the Bingjia Bay area. Set your navigation to the specific beach or viewpoint you want to visit.
Allow half a day for the central seaside area, including Juhua Nü Square, the Three-Reef Viewing Bridge (三礁揽胜桥) and Xinghai Bay. The separate Longhuitou–Bingjia Bay boardwalk is about 1.67 km one way, so allow additional time for transfers, photo stops and the return walk or pickup. The coastal sites are spread out, so do not plan to walk the entire shoreline as one continuous route.

Choose your visit
Juhua Nü Square and Three-Reef Viewing Bridge
The central area includes the Juhua Nü statue, the main entrance archway, Xinghai Park and Jimu Pavilion. The Three-Reef Viewing Bridge (三礁揽胜桥) extends out over the water and is a good place for sea views and photos. It may close in rough weather or after a management change; follow entrance notices and do not climb over barriers onto the rocks.
This area suits a relaxed seaside visit or travelers who prefer a shorter walk. The bridge can be slippery when wet, so take care on the steps and take photos only from open paths.
Xinghai Bay bathing beach
From the central entrance, walk on the sand at Xinghai Bay, play in the sand or swim when the bathing beach is open. Gangkou Bay and Bingjia Bay are two other options. Their facilities and entrances are in different locations, so find the parking area or bus stop for your chosen destination.
Before children swim, check that the bathing beach and swimming area are open and read the lifeguard notices. Jellyfish, waves and water temperature vary. If swimming is not allowed, switch to a beach walk and viewpoints.
Longhuitou and Xinghai Boardwalk
The Longhuitou viewpoint overlooks the bay and coastline from above. The Xinghai Boardwalk is about 1,670 m long, running from Longhuitou in the north to Bingjia Bay in the south. It has wooden and rope bridges, a section through a ravine and rest spots, and can be planned as a standalone coastal walk.
The boardwalk has steps and uneven sections and is not guaranteed to be accessible. Stay on open sections. Visitors with limited mobility can enjoy the view near the entrance or turn back; do not leave the path for the surf zone or areas behind barriers.
Build your day
Half-day central coast route
Enter at Juhua Nü Square, see the statue and main entrance archway, then follow open paths to the Three-Reef Viewing Bridge. Continue to Xinghai Bay beach for a walk or a rest, then return to the original entrance to meet your ride or collect your car. If the bridge is closed because of wind or waves, stay around the square, Xinghai Park or an open section of shore; do not go onto the rocks to find another photo angle.
Longhuitou boardwalk route
Navigate to the Longhuitou viewpoint and follow the boardwalk south to Bingjia Bay, about 1,670 m one way. If no pickup is arranged at Bingjia Bay, return the same way and assess your fitness against the round-trip distance and steps. If the boardwalk is closed, stay at the viewpoint.
Two-day combination and island trip
Spend the first day at the central coast or on the Longhuitou boardwalk. On the second day, choose either Xingcheng Ancient City (兴城古城) or Juehua Island (觉华岛) and travel to its separate entrance. To visit the island, take a boat from Xingcheng Land–Island Ferry Terminal (兴城陆岛交通码头) and plan around the outbound and return schedules, including the last departure. Do not assume you can take an afternoon boat to the island, watch the sunset and still return to shore.
Get there
Choose the station shown on your ticket
Before arrival, check whether your ticket is for Xingcheng, Xingcheng West or Huludao North station, then arrange a transfer to your specific beach. These stations are at different distances from Juhua Nü Square, Longhuitou and Juehua Island pier; one drive-time estimate from “Xingcheng high-speed rail station to the beach” does not cover all entrances.
Bus, taxi and driving
Check buses 1, 2 and 17 for service in the coastal area. Stops, seasonal schedules and last-bus times depend on current information. In peak season, ask your accommodation about a pickup in advance; drivers should navigate to the parking area for the specific beach.
Parking lots serve different entrances and use different fee arrangements. Check the posted rates at the lot; do not treat the per-entry charge at Juhua Nü Square as the same as hourly parking elsewhere.
Return trip to Juehua Island
Juehua Island is outside walking distance from the mainland beaches and requires a separate trip to Xingcheng Land–Island Ferry Terminal. Before booking an island itinerary, confirm the outbound and return boats, service suspension notices and the transfer from the pier to your accommodation. If the return schedule does not work, visit only the mainland coast or set aside another day.
Know before you go
Tickets, parking and beach services
Opening hours and charges vary by entrance and bathing beach. Do not assume that beach facilities, parking or water activities are all free. Before swimming or joining an activity, check what is open, what the fee includes and whether weather can stop service. Pay for parking at the posted rate.
Tides, rocks and photography
Aixin Cave is not part of the recommended sightseeing route. Tides, waves and slippery rocks may affect the area around the sea cave. Stay on open seaside paths and viewing areas; do not climb over barriers or enter the cave. For tidal-flat gathering, check the day's tide and shoreline rules. Take photos from the Three-Reef Viewing Bridge only while it is open to visitors.
Evening visits and island tickets
The open seaside paths are suitable for enjoying the view in the evening, but the Three-Reef Viewing Bridge, lighthouse and beach facilities may not have regular nighttime access or lighting. For nighttime photography, check entrance controls and return transport. Juehua Island's trial admission-free policy runs through December 31, 2026; a boat ticket is still required, and you need to plan both the outbound and return trips.
Food, supplies and weather
Restaurant availability, market prices and seafood supplies change. Before buying seafood or asking a restaurant to cook it, confirm the species, size, weight, unit price and preparation fee, and keep a record of the bill. Do not plan lunch around fishing boats coming ashore. Bring a windproof layer and drinking water; shorten your visit if waves increase or the bathing beach closes.
