Plan at a glance

An independent afternoon-opening park

Guangzhou Street and Hong Kong Street Scenic Area is in Hengdian Town, Dongyang, Jinhua, Zhejiang. It is an independent theme park whose main entrance is the South Gate. Reference opening hours are 13:00–21:00, and it is usually not open in the earlier part of the day. Choose another park for a morning itinerary.

The main features are streetscapes, arcades, harbour water and night lighting. A quick visit takes about 2–3 hours; allow 4–5 hours if you want both daytime streets and night views. The park may appear in a Hengdian multi-park pass, but confirm the ticket coverage and entry conditions separately.

Who it suits

This park suits visitors interested in Republican-era or Hong Kong-style streets, traditional and retro photography and immersive interactive activities. With children or older adults, check the day’s crowd levels and outdoor programmes first, as movement through the streets can be more crowded at night.

Choose your visit

Guangzhou Street, Hong Kong Street and Victoria Harbour

The Thirteen Hongs, the arcade streets, Queen’s Road and Victoria Harbour make up the main walking areas. During the day, look at the building façades and street proportions; after the lights come on, return to see the signs, reflections and the clock tower area at night.

The park includes streetscapes, photography sets, live performances and some interactive content. Entry to the park does not mean that every activity is open. Treat performances and interactions as adjustable options based on the day’s programme.

What type of stay works

If you mainly want photographs, enter toward the evening and walk Guangzhou Street, Hong Kong Street, Victoria Harbour and Queen’s Road before leaving through the South Gate. If you also want live activities, allow time for queues, meeting points and crowd movement rather than using the entire stay for photographs.

Visitors interested in night views can stay after the lights come on, but the timing depends on weather and operations. If anyone in your group needs an earlier rest, the daytime streets and a short route are enough for a complete visit.

Build your day

A 2–3 hour streetscape route

Enter through the South Gate and first follow the Guangzhou Street area past the Thirteen Hongs and the arcade streets. Continue to Hong Kong Street, Victoria Harbour and Queen’s Road, then return to the exit. The area is mainly explored on foot; leave the passage clear when taking photographs and do not stay in narrow sections for too long.

If you are also visiting another park that day, decide your leaving time before entering. Because Guangzhou Street and Hong Kong Street opens in the afternoon, you can go directly to your accommodation after a short route or extend the stay according to the day’s programme.

A 4–5 hour daytime-to-evening route

After opening in the afternoon, first see the buildings and lanes. At dusk, return to Victoria Harbour and Queen’s Road to photograph the lights, then choose a live performance from the programme if you wish. Meeting points and queues change between activities, so leave one part of the schedule unassigned.

Before leaving at night, confirm the South Gate direction, the ride-hailing pick-up point and the route to your accommodation. If it rains or outdoor activities are adjusted, shorten the riverside section and complete the streetscapes and indoor areas before leaving.

Connecting with Ming and Qing Palaces

Ming and Qing Palaces and Guangzhou Street and Hong Kong Street are relatively close, so you can place the former during the day and the latter in the afternoon and evening. They sell and check tickets separately. Rebuild the order around the day’s ticket type, opening time and your group’s stamina.

If the palace route has already involved a long walk, limit Guangzhou Street and Hong Kong Street to the streets and night views. There is no need to compress the return journey simply to visit every park, especially with older adults or young children.

Get there

High-speed rail, light rail and transport within Hengdian

From Yiwu Station, reaching Hengdian by bus transfer or taxi usually takes about one hour. From Jinhua Station or Jinhua South Station, take light rail to Ming and Qing Palace Station, then transfer to a bus or taxi. Once there, navigate directly to the South Gate or the relevant parking area for Guangzhou Street and Hong Kong Street.

If you are coming from Ming and Qing Palaces, choose walking or a ride-hailing car based on the on-site roads. The entrance is different from Ming and Qing Palaces; after getting out, follow the South Gate signs rather than waiting outside for an activity inside the park.

Driving and parking

Drivers can navigate to the Guangzhou Street and Hong Kong Street parking area and walk to the South Gate. Afternoon and evening arrivals can be busy, so note the vehicle’s position and leave time to find it after leaving.

If you plan to stay for night activities and then collect the car, traffic may gather at the same time. Choose either driving or a ride-hailing car as your main return plan instead of changing the pick-up location after the programme ends.

Know before you go

Performances, filming and weather

Live performances, street interactions, photography sets and lighting activities may change with weather and operating arrangements. Outdoor activities may pause in rain, and actor interactions, filming activities and the accessible range of some sets should not be promised in advance.

When taking photographs, keep shop entrances, bridges and narrow lanes clear. Do not enter closed filming sets or interfere with ongoing filming. Ask about the price and scope of photography packages, costume services or guided shoots before buying, and decline temporary sales pitches if you do not need them.

Walking at night and supplies

The park is mainly explored on foot at night. Wear shoes with good grip and watch your footing along the river and on bridges. When crowds gather, agree on a meeting point with your group; families with children should be especially careful not to separate after a performance.

Food choices and opening hours inside the park can change. Carry water and a small snack. If you plan to eat in Hengdian Town, it is easier to arrange the return after leaving the park and walking toward the town centre.
