The main scenic area and separate nearby sites
Yiwulü Mountain lies between Beizhen and Yixian. The ticket covers the main scenic-area visit; Beizhen Temple and Qingyan Temple have separate entrances and arrangements. Set your map to “Yiwulü Mountain Scenic Area” (医巫闾山风景名胜区).
Tickets and visiting hours
The scenic area lists adult tickets at CNY 65 in peak season and CNY 55 in the off-season. Some seniors, students and minors may qualify for half-price admission; check the eligible categories when buying. Reference hours are 08:00–17:00, with entry stopping at about 16:20. Call 0416-6612558 before your visit to confirm current arrangements.

Dashi Peng, also called Daoyin Valley
Dashi Peng (大石棚), also known as Daoyin Valley (道隐谷), is a huge natural rock shelf. Hu Xian Hall (胡仙堂) stands to its west; a basin for the “holy water” (圣水盆) sits under the overhang, and cliff carvings are nearby. Local folklore includes stories about Hu San Taiye (胡三太爷) and Hu San Tainai (胡三太奶). These are traditional folk beliefs rather than historical facts or claims of supernatural powers. The Wannian Pine (万年松), Zufeng Peak (祖峰) and the cliff carvings are other mountain features; stories about the old pine are folklore.
The glass suspension bridge and mountain walkway
The glass suspension bridge is about 245 meters long and may close in strong winds or heavy rain. A CNY 30 promotion ran in 2025; check the current fare before you go. The mountain glass walkway is a separate feature; check the visitor map and same-day notice for its location, access and fee.
Viewpoints and light
The entrance stele is a good early-morning photo stop, while morning side light can bring out the rock texture at Dashi Peng. Wanghai Temple (望海寺) is higher up and looks over the surrounding ridges. If you plan to photograph near sunset, allow time to descend and follow the scenic area’s clearing instructions.
Build your day
Short route: about 2–3 hours
From the entrance, follow the formal scenic-area road toward Shengshui Bridge (圣水桥), Daoyin Valley (道隐谷; Dashi Peng, 大石棚) and the area around Guanyin Pavilion (观音阁). Allow about 2–3 hours. Use the entrance map to choose open branches and follow signs back to the gate. If a mountain path is closed, shorten the visit; do not look for an unmarked shortcut.
Longer route: about 3–4 hours
Allow 3–4 hours for the core route and one extension. If the paths are open and time permits, choose one signed extension toward a higher point such as Wannian Pine (万年松) or Wanghai Temple (望海寺), then return to the main gate along an open route. Do not plan all the high points as a fixed loop.
Weather changes and temporary closures
In strong wind, rain or a temporary closure, follow staff directions back along an open route to the gate. The glass suspension bridge may close in severe weather. Do not enter closed sections or follow unmarked mountain paths.
Get there
Driving and parking
From Shenyang, take the Fuying Expressway (S21) from the Beijing–Shenyang Expressway, exit at Beizhen Interchange and continue through Beizhen to the mountain gate. From Jinzhou, take China National Highway 102 to Goubangzi, then Highway 205 north toward Beizhen. Search for “Yiwulü Mountain Scenic Area” and check live road conditions. The reference parking fee is CNY 20 per car; follow the car park’s posted rate.
Train and coach transfers
From Goubangzi or Beizhen Railway Station, continue by coach or taxi. Long-distance coaches to Beizhen operate from some cities. Check the arrival station, departure times and last service for your route, and arrange the return transfer before relying on public transport.
Know before you go
Steps, loose slopes and wind
Most routes use stone steps, with steeper sections in places. Wear shoes with good grip and bring a light jacket because it can be windy at higher elevations, even in summer. Longer routes require more stamina and time than the lower mountain visit; check the open route and return time before bringing children or older visitors.
The “holy water” basin and local stories
The basin (圣水盆) under the rock shelf is a feature of Daoyin Valley; do not drink from it. These local folk traditions are part of the area’s cultural context. Stay on formal open routes and watch your footing near the cliff carvings.
Food and parking in Beizhen
The reference parking fee is CNY 20 per car. Lao Pangjia juicy steamed buns (水馅包子) and Goubangzi smoked chicken are found in Beizhen or Goubangzi, outside the scenic area, so allow time for a separate transfer if you plan to eat there.
