Yanqing Taoist Temple is at 53 Guanqian Street in Gulou District, Kaifeng. The entrance is on Guanqian Street, marked as a nationally protected cultural heritage site. An adult ticket costs CNY 30. Students and visitors aged 60–69 pay CNY 15; discounts for visitors aged 70 or above, children under 1.4 metres, and Kaifeng Tourism Annual Card holders follow the on-site rules. Summer hours, roughly 1 May to 7 October, are 08:30–18:30. Winter and spring hours, roughly 8 October to 30 April, are 08:30–18:00.
Suggested visit length
For a quick look at the exterior of Yuhuang Pavilion, the underground palace, and the red walls, allow 30–60 minutes. A complete route through the gate, Yuhuang Pavilion, underground palace, Hall of the Three Pure Ones, and Chongyang Hall takes about 1–1.5 hours. The main focus is the Yuan-dynasty Yuhuang Pavilion and the preservation display around it.

Yuhuang Pavilion
Yuhuang Pavilion is the temple's main building. It is a beamless pavilion made with grey bricks and glazed-tile components, with a shape that is square below and round above. View it from the front and side to compare the proportions and glazed decoration.
Underground palace and the lifting project
The underground palace contains a statue of Wang Chongyang and displays from the 2008 project that lifted and preserved the building as a whole. You can also see a section of the original Yuan-dynasty foundation. This space explains historic-building conservation; it is not a regular underground prayer area.
Hall of the Three Pure Ones, Chongyang Hall and visitor fit
The Hall of the Three Pure Ones has murals introducing Wang Chongyang's life, while Chongyang Hall commemorates him. Yanqing Taoist Temple suits visitors interested in historic buildings, Taoist culture, and photography. Visitors who want to understand the connection between Quanzhen figures and the architecture can allow 1–1.5 hours.
Build your day
A 30–60 minute architecture route
Enter through the gate, view the exterior of Yuhuang Pavilion, then go down to the underground palace for the whole-building lifting and preservation display. Finish with photographs around the red walls and old cypress trees before leaving. If time is limited, put Yuhuang Pavilion and the underground palace at the start of the route.
This route is for the core buildings and does not add a long old-city walk. Summer closing time is about 18:30 and winter-and-spring closing time about 18:00, so an afternoon visit should complete the indoor and underground sections first.
A 1–1.5 hour complete route
Visit in the order of the gate, Yuhuang Pavilion, underground palace, Hall of the Three Pure Ones, and Chongyang Hall. Start outside with the form of Yuhuang Pavilion, then enter the underground palace, and finish with the two halls. This order lets you see the building design before the conservation display.
The front of Yuhuang Pavilion, the red walls and old cypress trees, and the brick-and-stone ceiling of the underground palace are suitable photography stops. Light is limited inside the underground palace, so use equipment according to the on-site rules.
Old-town combination
Yanqing Taoist Temple is about a five-minute walk from Kaifeng Government Office and is also close to Baogong Lake. Visit one and walk to the other, but buy admission separately. Kaifeng Government Office's night programme and the temple's daytime visit are separate arrangements.

Public transport
Bus routes 1, 9, 16, 20, and 23 stop at “Yanqing Taoist Temple” (延庆观站), with the Guanqian Street entrance close by. For a taxi, use Yanqing Taoist Temple as the destination and look for the heritage marker and entrance along the street.
Driving and parking
Yanqing Taoist Temple is in the old city, where the surrounding streets are narrow and parking is tight. Public transport is more practical for a first visit, and temporary roadside spaces are not dependable.

A building-focused visit
Yanqing Taoist Temple is a small temple focused on the Yuan-dynasty Yuhuang Pavilion, the underground palace, and the building-preservation display. The core visit usually takes 0.5–1.5 hours. There is no large temple garden, so focus on the building form, foundation display, and murals.
Religious-site boundaries
Yanqing Taoist Temple is currently arranged mainly for architecture and history visits; prayer activities are not part of the regular visitor programme. Keep quiet in Yuhuang Pavilion, the Hall of the Three Pure Ones, and Chongyang Hall. Religious activities and site management follow the arrangements for that day.
