Place Cuigu Waterfall in the middle of the Xiaoqikong route
Cuigu Waterfall is inside Xiaoqikong Scenic Area. It fits best after Wolong Pool and Yuanyang Lake. On the West Gate in and East Gate out route, it works as the main middle stop before Water Forest and the later waterfall walking section.
See the main waterfall first, then decide whether to go near the water
After getting off, follow the path to see the full drop, water flow, and shallow area below the waterfall. When water volume is high, the ground can be wet and slippery, so you do not need to move straight to the closest waterside spot.
Use it as a short stop or a water-play stop
If you only want to see the waterfall and take photos, 30-45 minutes is enough. In hot weather, if water access is open and you are traveling with children, you can allow more time. Do not let water play cut into the later Water Forest and waterfall-route sections.
Continue toward Water Forest after the stop
After Cuigu Waterfall, continue toward Water Forest, then 68-Step Waterfall and Laya Waterfall. This keeps the Xiaoqikong water scenery in a clear order: pool, lake, waterfall, streamside forest, and waterfall walking route.
✦Allow 30-45 minutes for Cuigu Waterfall. Add more time only if you plan to play near the water or are traveling with children.
✦After rain, the waterfall may have stronger flow, but the water can look muddier and the path or shallow stones can be slippery.
✦If you want to go near the water, non-slip sandals or water shoes are more stable than regular sneakers.
✦Do not use flip-flops on wet stone, and do not let children stand alone near shallow water or the flow edge.
✦On holidays, sightseeing bus queues can stretch the whole route, so do not stay here so long that Water Forest and the later waterfall section become rushed.
✦If time is tight, see the main waterfall and path views only, and save water-play time for a looser schedule.
