Treat Wolong Pool as the first major stop on the west-side route
Wolong Pool is not a separate scenic area. It is one of the core water-view stops inside Xiaoqikong Scenic Area. If you enter from the West Gate, take the sightseeing bus to Wolong Pool and use it as the opening stop of the full route.
See the pool first, then the curved waterfall
Do not rush straight to the next stop after getting off. Start with the blue-green pool and mountain reflections, then move toward the curved dam where the water drops in a clean white line.
Keep the stop focused, then continue east
Plan 30-60 minutes at Wolong Pool. After seeing the main water surface, waterfall, and boardwalk angles, continue toward Yuanyang Lake, Cuigu Waterfall, or the later waterfall walking route. Do not spend too much of the day here.
✦Wolong Pool does not use a separate ticket. It follows the Xiaoqikong Scenic Area ticket and sightseeing bus rules.
✦Sunny weather is more reliable for clear water color. After heavy rain, the water volume may be higher, but the color may be less clear.
✦Entering from the West Gate is best if Wolong Pool is your first priority. If you enter from the East Gate, it becomes a later-route stop, so avoid backtracking just for it.
✦The main viewing platform can be crowded. Walk a little farther along the boardwalk for quieter angles.
✦Waterside stones, steps, and boardwalk sections can be slippery when wet. Do not stand too close to the edge for photos.
✦Wolong Pool is good for photos and water color, but it is not a long-stay stop. Save energy for the full Xiaoqikong route.
