Plan at a glance
A boat ride and island walk, not a large amusement park
Yunhe Lake Xiangong Scenic Area is in Longmen Village, Jinshuitan Town, Yunhe County. The visitor centre is in the Longmen Village committee building, and Xianniu Island—the core visit—can only be reached from Longmen Pier by boat. The experience is the lake crossing, island boardwalk and quiet walking rather than a dense set of rides; allow 1.5–2 hours for a short visit or 3–4 hours for a slow one.
It works best as a self-drive half-day for visitors who enjoy lake scenery and gentle walking. Travellers expecting many photo installations, an enterable castle or reliably operating extra-charge attractions may find a mismatch, so judge it first as a boat-and-island walk.
The ticket includes the return boat; the final boat sets the island deadline
The adult package is about CNY 45 and includes the return boat. Exchange it at the visitor centre before boarding. Typical hours are 08:30–17:00, final entry is around 16:00, boats commonly leave on the hour or half hour, the crossing takes about 12 minutes and the final return boat is around 16:30.
Check the day's boat timetable before buying or deciding to go ashore. Afternoon arrivals need to work backward from the final return: time available on the island matters more than the distance on a map, because a missed boat can mean a long wait at a remote pier.

Lake views from the boat, then a gentle Xianniu Island walk
The short departure from Longmen Pier is part of the visit, showing the moving relationship between water and mountains. Xianniu Island is fairly level, and its lakeside boardwalk supports an easy walk; the Rainbow Suspension Bridge, forest piano and pink beach are practical photo pauses along the way.
Squirrels are often seen on the island. Watch rather than feed or chase them; for people-and-lake photographs, open shore and boardwalk views are more dependable than repeatedly hunting installations, and wind or rough water should shift attention to group safety.
The abandoned pink castle is only a distant boat view
The widely shared pink castle has been abandoned and cannot be entered; it can only be seen from the boat at a distance. Some island viewpoints, water slides and other facilities may be under maintenance, closed or separately charged, so they should not be the reason for the whole visit.
Treat the rainbow bridge, beach and lakeside walk as the workable core, then adjust to what is actually open on arrival. Even if an individual facility is unavailable, the boat crossing and shore walk still make a complete experience.
Build your day
1.5–2 hours: ticket, boat, near-island loop and return
Exchange the ticket at the visitor centre, walk to Longmen Pier for the scheduled boat, then follow the boardwalk near the pier past the rainbow bridge, pink beach and forest installations before returning to the pier. The key to this route is allowing enough time to be back at the pier.
Note the return-boat time when you arrive on the island, then reassess halfway through the walk. If boat intervals, weather or group pace are not favourable, shorten the route to the near-pier section instead of hurrying across the island.
A 3–4-hour stay only for visitors who truly want to slow down
With plenty of time and a confirmed return vehicle, walk a fuller lakeside loop, stop at open shore views, look for squirrels and take proper rests. Not every section has food or shade, so water, sun protection and energy management are your own responsibility.
Do not wait for an uncertain extra activity until the last boat. Some viewpoints are worn and closed areas are firm route endpoints; use remaining time for lake views, walking or a meal in Jinshuitan Town instead.
Get there
Driving to Longmen Village is the practical option
Navigate directly to Yunhe Lake Xiangong Scenic Area. Parking is free and has charging points. Driving secures the return rather than searching for a vehicle around Jinshuitan; after parking, you still walk to the visitor centre, exchange the ticket and board according to the boat schedule.
After landing back in Longmen Village, count vehicle pickup, driving and the next mountain segment in the day. Yunhe Rice Terraces is about 30 minutes away only when roads are smooth; the final return boat and mountain weather take priority over the number of places linked.
Without a car, secure both directions before boarding
Continuing from Lishui Station by taxi or coach is inconvenient, especially on the return. Visitors without self-drive should settle the round-trip vehicle, waiting point and an alternative after the final boat before leaving Lishui or Yunhe County town.
There is no metro and no land substitute for the island boat. If a driver cannot wait or the return is uncertain, use a short Jinshuitan-area stop or choose a more accessible attraction rather than creating a passive wait after going to the island.
Know before you go
Confirm boats, closures and boardwalk conditions on site
Check boat departures, the final boat, open island sections and weather before boarding. Boats may run differently from expectation, and service or projects can change; leave a buffer for the next transport instead of building the day around the final crossing.
In wind, rain, slippery boardwalk conditions or facility closures, reduce walking distance, follow staff direction and stay behind barriers. Lake views do not require a complete circuit; safe walking, a timely boat and open paths matter most.
Put food and Yunhe Rice Terraces in a realistic order
Do not use island food or shopping as the main plan. Lunch is easier in Jinshuitan Town or Yunhe County town; visitors who enjoy fish can look for local farmhouse fish-head soup, while restaurant hours and preparation still depend on the day.
Yunhe Rice Terraces can be the next segment, but a same-day checklist should not sacrifice boat timing or rest. Complete the return crossing and drive first, then decide whether light, driving condition and terrace opening windows still support going uphill.
