How to Visit
1

Visit it as part of Chengyang Bazhai

Chengyang Yongji Bridge is inside the Chengyang Bazhai Scenic Area, so visit it with the Chengyang Bazhai ticket. Do not treat it as a separate ticketed attraction.

Tip:The bridge is the opening highlight of the wider village route, not a standalone city stop.
2

Decide whether you are only seeing the bridge

If you only want to see the bridge, 45-60 minutes is enough. If you continue into Ma'an Village, Ping Village, and Yan Village, allow at least half a day.

Tip:Traveling from Liuzhou just for one bridge is not very efficient; it is worth it when combined with Chengyang Bazhai.
3

Use several photo angles

For photos, pause at the bridgehead, riverbank, and inside the covered corridor. Morning and late afternoon light is softer.

Tip:The bridge is also a passageway, so avoid blocking the middle for long photo sessions.
4

Continue into the villages afterward

After seeing the bridge, keep walking into the villages. The drum towers and village lanes complete the experience.

Tip:Stopping only at the bridge misses much of what makes the Chengyang area worth the transfer.
Highlights
  • Chengyang Yongji Bridge is the symbolic wind-and-rain bridge of Chengyang Bazhai and a representative Dong wooden structure.
  • The bridge combines passageway, corridor, and pavilions, so it works as both a crossing and a place to rest.
  • The wooden joinery, pavilion layers, and riverside setting show more detail in person than in photos.
  • From the bridge, you can see the village entrance, stream, and surrounding wooden houses, making it the best opening scene for entering Bazhai.
Insider Tips

The bridge is also a passageway, so do not block the middle for long photo sessions.

In rain, the wooden boards and stone steps can be slippery. Walk slowly on the bridge corridor and riverbank.

Traveling from Liuzhou just for one bridge is not very efficient. It is worth it when combined with Chengyang Bazhai.

For emptier photos, avoid the middle of the day when tour groups are most likely to arrive.
